Our precious mother, June A. Kindsfater passed away on August 30, 2021.
June was born in Calhan, CO to Carl and Glyde Huck. She married William (Bill) Kindsfater and they had two daughters: Jo Sturdevant (Clancy, MT) and Renie Hanson (Helena, MT). They were together 50 years when Bill passed away in 1992. Bill’s endearing nickname for June was “June Bug.” Mom and Dad lived at Canyon Ferry Lake, and enjoyed fishing together almost daily. Each year Mom canned her trout and the whole family benefited. She caught a record 20 pound brown trout from the river below the dam and it was displayed in the Cave Bay Bar for many years. Mom could always out fish anyone who challenged her. Fishing was “Her HAPPY Place.”
Mom leaves behind daughters Jo (Dan) and Renie (Lee) six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and one sister, Jeannine Gaddy of Calhan, CO. Mom will forever be in our hearts.
A funeral service will be held at the Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home of Helena on Friday, September 10th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception in the Social Hall of the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery, Ft. Harrison following the reception. Memorials are suggested to Lewis and Clark Humane Society of Helena.

June & Bill, Bud & Zona. They go together like peanut butter & jelly. Can’t think about one & not the other. June & My mom were the best fisher ladies and card players Canyon Ferry ever came across. So many memories between our families. They had so much fun, 2 peas in a pod! They are all together in Heaven & maybe they are fishing.
My heart goes out to all of you. I pray for peace & comfort .
