June Smith
June Dean Smith of Helena passed away due to respiratory failure at St. Peter’s Hospital on July 12, 2011, surrounded by family.
June was born to Landon and Pauline Bryson on June 29, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio. She married Larkin “Ernie” Smith on August 8, 1966. They lived in Sunnyvale, California for many years before moving to Montana. After moving to locations in Wyoming and Montana, they settled in Helena for the remainder of their lives.
June worked the majority of her years in Helena at American Federal Savings from where she retired. She never complained and always wanted to know what she could do for others. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her grandkids were the light of her life and they all loved her very much. She will be greatly missed.
June is survived by her son, Larkin Smith III and his partner Janeen Duke of Helena; her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Tim Wunderwald of Helena; her daughter Patricia Larson of Euclid, OH; and grandchildren, Lakyn and Taylor Smith of Helena, Leon and Courtney Wunderwald of Helena, and Matthew Tyson of Roaming Shore, OH, Renee Wallace of Mentor, OH, and Trisha Larson of Euclid, OH. June was blessed with 4 great-grandchildren. June is also survived by her brother Gary Bryson of Princeton, IL and James Bryson of Willoughby, Ohio. June was preceded in death by her father, mother, and husband, Ernie Smith.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Rick DeMato officiating.
