Mildred Jungck, age 92 of Helena

November 30, 1924 – May 18, 2017

Mildred (Milly) M Jungck, 92, current resident of Helena, MT and former resident of Soap Lake, WA, died on Thursday, May 18, 2017. She was born November 30, 1924, in Phillipsburg, KS, to August E and Marie C (Brenneke) Krause. She attended school in Phillipsburg, KS, and continued her education at Wartburg College in Waverly IA, graduating with a certificate in Parsh Work.  She married Erwin F. Jungck on May 29, 1951, in Phillipsburg, KS.  He preceded her in death December 20, 2008.

Milly worked outside the home as a bookkeeper for Columbia Basin Nursery, Quincy, WA, and as an apple picker for many years at Pheasants’ Orchard, Soap Lake, WA.

Milly’s passion was playing Pinochle at the Senior Centers in the cities where she lived. She also enjoyed Jigsaw and crossword puzzles.  In recent years, she sewed quilt tops for Lutheran World Relief, completing 86 tops in 2017 for St. John’s Lutheran Quilters of Helena, MT.

Milly was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ephrata, WA and was currently attending services at First Lutheran Church and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Helena, MT.

Milly is survived by her children and their spouses; Rosemarie McDonald, Helena, MT; Karen (Dave) Leber, West Richland, WA; Mark (Cassandra) Jungck, Bothell, WA; David Jungck, Bothell, WA: Alan (Natalie) Jungck, San Diego, CA. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and a great grandchild expected in July.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Erwin; her parents and brothers, Oroville, Emil and Wilbert (Butch) Krause.

Services are pending and Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA, at a future date.
