Karla Jeannette Sorbe Moots, age 48, died at her home in Helena, Montana on March 31, 2011. Her death was caused by a lingering illness. Karla was born on September 6, 1962 in Salt Lake City, UT along with her twin-sister, Paula, to Victor K. and Jeannette (Gehrke) Sorbe. She is preceded in death by her parents and other loving mother, Virginia Francis Sorbe.
Karla grew up in West Valley City, UT and graduated from Granger High school in 1980. After high school, Karla, like her mothers, studied nursing and attended her L.V.N. from the community college. She married Will Moots in 1994 and through that union came a son, William, age 15 and a daughter, Samantha, age 14.
Karla’s career was spent nursing. Karla was always interested in helping others. She loved life and the splendor of nature. She loved animals and appreciated the harvest of gardening and farming. Karla loved music and encouraged this love in her children, who both participate in band. Karla was always an avid reader. She loved Montana, fishing and camping. She dearly loved her husband, children and extended family. Karla was a member of the Helena 5th ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She is survived by her husband, Will Moots; children, William and Samantha; twin sister, Paula (Mr. Lynn Williams) and their children Ali and Jerry of West Weber, UT; loving aunts and uncles, cousins and friends who will greatly miss her.
A forthcoming memorial will be announced and a special remembrance at the Sorbe Family Reunion held at the family farm in Levan, UT on Saturday, July 16, 2011.
