In Memory Of

Katherine P. “Kathy” Boyle, age 82, of Helena

December 31, 1934 – July 5, 2017

Katherine “Kathy” Patricia Boyle left us July 5th 2017 in Helena Montana after beating all odds and surviving 10 years with a life-threatening disease. Her pains is gone, she is with God and for those who knew her she will be remembered for her great courage and kindness.

She was born on New Year’s Eve 1934 in New York City. Her parents died and Kathy and her surviving sister, Betty Ford, grew up in an orphanage until the age 18. She went to work, and at age 22 and married George Boyle on July 21, 1956. In 1959 George Jr. was born.

She became a widow in 1961, and worked and raised her son in a loving home, she was a great mom.

In 1980, she moved to Montana to be closer to her son and worked full-time at K-Mart and got her degree and Master’s degree at Eastern Montana College, in Billings, with a 3.7 GPA.

She worked for the State of Montana in Plains helping people; she fell in love with Plains and the Clark Fork River. At age 74 she retired and moved to Helena to be close to family and medical facilities.

She is survived by her son George, daughter-in-law Dee, sister Betty, grandchildren George, Jake, Shannon, Andrew and her beloved cousins Kate, Johnny, Billy, and Pat.

If we all make the effort in life that Kathy did the world will be a better place. She will be missed greatly!

Kathy will live on forever in my heart. She was the most courageous lady ever. We enjoyed a lot of things together. She wanted to experience everything! Next on our bucket list was to visit The Carolina where relatives would be staying soon and we planned to tour the Old Governor’ s Mansion. Rest in peace my super hero friend.

I met Kathy a number of years ago through the women’s cancer support group at St. Peter’s. She was such a feisty lady and always had funny comments to share. She could light up a room! She shared experiences and always related exactly which number chemo treatment she had just received. Very brave lady!!! Any time I saw her, she was ready with a big hug and that great smile. All of us in the group will miss her. She was definitely an “original”, and will not be forgotten.

We so enjoyed getting to know Kathy during our tenure as managers of Hunter’s Pointe. Always positive and courageous, she set quite the standard for living life to the fullest! We cherish the memories of our friendship with her, and will never forget her. Love to her family during this period of loss. Jack and Elaine Lee

I had the honor of bringing communion to Kathy for the last several months. She was an amazing faith-filled beautiful lady and I am blessed to have been able to spend time with her. Her family is in my prayers.

Kathy was always so positive and kind, with a quiet humility. She and I shared a passion for “The Giants” although she was way ahead of me having been a fan in NY before they came west. She always cared and asked about others even when her own treatments were “kind of rough”. My thoughts are with the family she spoke so highly of, you were good to her.

Kathy was a spitfire! I loved Kathy and she was so good to the people she worked with at Little Bitterroot. I worked with Kathy for a number of years and you always knew where you stood with her and that was not a bad thing! Her smile will be missed and thoughts and prayers to her family.
