Kathryn Elizabeth Grundmeier of Helena, MT passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25, 2022 at the age of 85. Per her final wishes, cremation has taken place. She will be laid to rest at the Wilsall Cemetery in Montana at a later date.
Kathryn was born on April 29, 1937 to parents Halmuth and Elynor (Fuller) Frederking in Spokane, WA. On April 8, 1956, she married Richard Frank Grundmeier with whom she built a beautiful life, growing their family with three sons, Frank, Kevin, and David and two daughters, Sandra and Kari. Kathryn was a wife and mother first, but in her free time she enjoyed bowling, pinochle, and card games. She and Richard lived a full life together until his passing on July 19, 2019.
Kathryn is survived by her sons, Frank Grundmeier of Helena, Kevin Grundmeier of Goldsboro, NC, David Grundmeier of Poulsbo, WA; daughters, Sandra Grundmeier of Alliance, NE and Kari Ames of Bozeman, MT; sister, Charlotte Frederking of Gilroy, CA; grandchildren, Parker Grundmeier of Helena, MT, Samantha Lembcke of Livingston, MT, Joshua Ames of Ft. Peck, MT, Matthew Grundmeier of Alliance, NE, Nathan Grundmeier of Poulsbo, WA; great-grandchildren, Miranda Fiedler of Livingston, MT, Jeffery Lembcke of Ft. Collins, CO, Alyssa Lembcke of Livingston, MT, Michael Ames of Ft. Peck, MT, Harrison Ames of Ft. Peck, MT; and great great-grandchildren, Alayna Fiedler of Livingston, MT, and Axtyn Fiedler of Livingston, MT.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Halmuth and Elynor Frederking; her husband, Richard Grundmeier; brothers, Norman Forrester, John Frederking, Richard Frederking; sisters, Margaret Soderberg and Barbara Carlyle.

.i am so sorry for the loss of kathy . I really enjoyed her at quilting at the church. One day, she was having trouble with her sewing machine….called Dick…packed up the machine….drove to Bozeman and came back with a new machine! it really cracked me up! really enjoyed her. very talented lady!
