Kay F. Kubis, age 61 of Helena

November 2, 1962 – February 18, 2024

Kay Kubis of Helena, Montana, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday February 18th, 2024 at the age of 61. She was born in Arcadia, WI and graduated from Arcadia High in 1981. Kay had a beautiful soul, and she’s remembered fondly by her high school friends and put a lot of value on education and earned her master’s in business management at UW Lacrosse.

Kay is survived by her children, Krystal Kubis (Josh) of WI, Kandice (Billy) King of Lincolnton, GA, and Kevin (Leah) Kubis of Cochrane, WI. Her Grandchildren, Simon and Sofia Schultz, Bria and William King, and Tyler, Grace, Haylee, Abby, Brayden Kubis, and Caden Estrada. Siblings Floyd (Jean) Werlein of Racine, WI, Betty Marsolek of Independence, WI, Barb (Dale) Hegland of Winter Haven, FL, Francis (Sue) Werlein of Taylor, WI, Bonnie (Jim) Richardson of La Crosse, WI, Kevin (Jennifer) Werlein of Onalaska, WI, Scott (Jennifer) Werlein of Gilmanton, WI, Michele Waldera of La Crosse, WI, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Kay is preceded in death by her Mother Esther Werlein of Arcadia, WI, her father Francis Werlein of Gilmanton, brother Roger Waldera of Arcadia. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

    Krystal, Kandice and Kevin: Sending my deepest sympathy to you at this difficult time. I have many fond memories growing up with Kay in our childhoods. As cousins, we did many things together and spent a lot of time with each other. Rest easy Kay.

    This is ashleigh zabel kay Kubis neighbor and I loved her and her laughter and her happiness with me and her conversation that we had together and I loved to go to Walmart together and I would like to be invited to her funeral if someone can come and get me because I can’t drive because of seizure disorder but I loved her as a friend and neibor my address is 1494 red alder loop and she lived close to me in the same loop

    The most beautiful smile I have ever seen. What a wonderful journey you have been on Kay. I really wish we could have stayed in touch over all these years. Rip dear. Condolences to all your family.
