In the early hours of February 19th, The Lord took Kelly Kuntz, a wonderful, caring and generous servant, to be with Him.
Kelly was born on August 2nd, 1957 in Helena to Robert and Mary Lou Kuntz. For the most part, he lived his entire life in the Helena area, spending his early years taking in all that Montana had to offer a young man. He spent most summers at the family cabin on Canyon Ferry, where he grew to love boating, water skiing, 4 wheeling and motorcycle riding. The winters found him on the ski hill gracefully maneuvering down every ski run he could find.
Kelly attended Capital High School and left to attend Eastern Montana College in Billings, then MSU in Bozeman and Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. After returning to Helena, he worked at Datsun as the Parts Dept. Manager. With encouragement from a friend, he took and passed the Series 7 Financial Securities test and was quickly hired by G. T. Murray and Co. It did not take Kelly long to become a highly respected and professional Financial Counselor. D.A. Davidson asked Kelly to join them in 1984 where he spent the next 30 years of his career. Kelly led the Helena office as Branch Manager for 15 years and was considered one of the firm’s best coaches to other advisors. He was a long time member of the Chairman’s Council and Presidents Club and at the time of his passing was a Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor. In 2001, he was elected the winner of D.A. Davidson’s highest honor, the Bragg Lewis Knutson Community Service Award, in recognition of his wide range of volunteer work and Board service.
The community of Helena was very special to Kelly and it was his privilege to sit on various Boards and Foundations. He was Chairman of The Foundation for Animals, he was on the Board of the Montana Chamber of Commerce Foundation, he was a Trustee for the local Drug Resistance Board and was a member of the Lion’s Club. He was also a generous supporter of the Lewis and Clark Humane Society.
Kelly will be greatly missed by Julie, his “Sweetheart” and wife of 30 years, his father, Robert (Phyllis), sister, Kathie Zanto (Larry), his brothers, Kraig, Kyle (Denise) and his sister, Kryss. He is also survived by 10 nephews and a niece. Many of his close friends were considered by Kelly to be family as well.
Kelly was preceded in his death by his mother, Lou, his grandparents and a nephew, Jason VanSteenvort.
Over the course of his life, Kelly had many animal friends whom he considered to be part of his and Julie’s family. He absolutely loved yellow labs, likely because he was sort of a human version of one, really…….living every minute with gusto, always tugging on the leash, and greeting everyone he met with great joy and enthusiasm. He offered love to everyone he knew. A genuine and loyal spirit, he will be forever and ever, greatly missed.
A vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Cathedral of St. Helena. A reception will follow the Mass at the Green Meadow Country Club, 2720 Country Club Avenue. Memorials in Kelly’s name are suggested to the Foundation for Animals, PO Box 389, Helena, Montana 59624 or Lewis & Clark Humane Society, P.O. Box 4455, Helena, MT 59604.

To Julie and your menagerie of animals, and to Kathy, Kraig, Kyle and Kryss and families my deepest and heartfelt sympathy. From the coffee clathes my mother shared with Lou, while Kryss Kelly and I jumped on the trampoline…….. to the wild and crazy junior high years and then on to graduate in the first class from capital high school, Kelly was a larger than life presence to me. His always ready greeting hug and smile lit up the room. This world will not be as bright without him, but he will join his good friends who have gone before him, especially Jim Scribner and Scooter and oh the gab fest they will have. Much much love and deepest sympathy.

When my family moved to Helena I was scared and overwhelmed to be in a new school with such a large class. My first day there, Kelly let me know by his actions and body language that I rocked, and this was a great group to be with. Bonnie Rush said, “Don’t you think he’s cute?”, I said “No”. Well, Bonnie was right. He was cute and a whole lot more.
Kelly, you rock.

When Molly called us yesterday with the news of Kelly’s passing, it was like losing a family member. My family association with the Kuntz family dates back to the early 1950’s when my mother was a receptionist for Kelly’s Grandfather. I started investing with DAD in 1989 with my mothers funds and later our own retirement funds. Kelly handled the investments from the start..This relationship over the years matured from our financial advisor to a very close friendship to both my wife and me. We are going to greatly miss his happy friendly greeting when we visit Helena. Our Thoughts and prayers go out to the Kuntz family at this very difficult time.

Whenever a question came up about finances (or almost anything!), mom would always say, “Call Kelly Kuntz!” He instilled such confidence, and it was always well placed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss for your family and the Helena family.

Less and less of the Hawthorne gang all the time. So many memories, Kelly. The Saturday matinees, crawling and climbing through the alleys and secret places of the West side (running through those same alleys a few years later), your trampoline, your basketball court, how you and Scott were always in competition to see who could get hurt worse, your collection of casts from every ski year, the weekends and summers hanging out at Susie’s (our “band” – Crimson & Clover, anyone?), that party in Devil’s Kitchen (remember, Shirley?), sneaking on the tour train with Mutter and Tawdy, that first hair on your chest that you accidently pulled out because you were so excited, that goofy bum hat you found and always wore (til it got knocked off and you almost fell off the top of that five story scaffolding!). Aw well…not enough time to go over it all here. There’s never enough time. So long, old friend.

Debbie Richter says
Kelly was inter-twined with the Richter family for 3 generations. My grandmother was one of Kelly’s first accounts at DAD. In that time, there has evolved a great love and respect within our family for Kelly. He always would greet you with a big smile that would warm anyone’s heart, a twinkle in his eye, and a huge bear hug whenever you visited him in his office. You always knew when Kelly was around, his voice and laughter was always so full of life. When you had a question or needed help, you had his full attention. I don’t think there were many funerals in town of folks that he knew that he missed. He was always there to help, support, and comfort the family with whatever they may need in their time of loss and grief. He was a very kind and giving person. He cared deeply about the welfare and rehabilitation of all critters. He donated his time and resources to make a difference for many causes that he felt passionate about. He supported his community without hesitation. He had many close friends that loved him dearly and have many fond memories. To the Kuntz family and all who loved him, you will be in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this most difficult time. We have all lost a most precious shining star. May we find comfort in all of the wonderful memories he has left us with. “Every day is a gift to be treasured.”

Kuntz family, I am still shocked and sad of Kelly’s passing, What a wonderful, funny person. There are no words to express my heavy heart at this time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers as you go forward. Always know that you will never be alone for Kelly will always be your “guardian angel” to watch over you. God bless and be with you.
Beth Sterling Raasch says
To the Kuntz Family –
Although it’s been years since we lived Kitty-corner from the Kuntz family our families were intertwined. One of the many fond memories was when Krissy would knock on our back door and ask if “Boy” (Kelly) was there.
We are so sorry to see Boy go —
You are in our hearts,
Beth Sterling

Kuntz Family,
It was such a shock to hear of Kelly’s passing. He was definitely one of a kind…with a huge heart. Anyone who loves animals as much as Kelly has a place in heaven. He always had a big smile and “hello” – no matter what he was doing – and never forgot you if he met you once.
Take care of each other…

Ann Curlee says
Dearest Julie, my heart is heavy and my eyes filling with tears writing this note. My first memories of you two were at The Exchange in the ’80’s where I witnessed the joy you two had just hanging out with each other there. As a waitress working her way through graduate school, Kelly kept me in stitches just trying to get his order. And you Julie joined in. He always tipped big knowing I needed it. What a sadness I feel. I will miss his smiles, hugs, and hellos. Julie, I am truly sorry. Love, Ann
Peggy Laurine Marcinkowski says
What a huge loss and shock! How blessed we were to have Kelly in our first graduating CHS class of 1975. There is a saying that goes something like: In the end we will not be remembered for how much money we had, the positions we held, the titles after our names, how attractive we were, what houses we lived in or what cars we drove. Rather, we will be remembered for how we made each person feel in our presence. Kelly achieved extraordinary and admirable success, but he did not become an elitist. He saw the value and worth in each person who stood before him and made you feel as if you were the only person in the room. His million dollar smile, his laser-beam focus and genuine interest and care (no matter what your station in life) blessed many including me. Kelly had a huge charismatic presence that, like Cindy and Opie Jones stated, will be strongly missed at our class reunions. His numerous witty and hilarious one-liners cracked me up into deep laughter with tears often streaming down my face. Kelly thanks for all and may God comfort all your loved ones. I look forward to seeing you on the other side. Godspeed my dear one!
Sandy Newton says
My dear Julie and Kuntz family. Words cannot express my sadness to hear of Kelly’s passing. Kelly was an icon in our community. His compassion, kind and gentle generous heart have been felt by so many (including our four legged friends), not to mention the many people he touched and reached beyond our small community. Kelly and Kappers are frolicking amongst the stars and are the brightest in our galaxy. God’s blessings, prayers and love to all of you.
Rebecca "Becky" Clark Brockway says
Dear Kuntz Family,
I graduated high school with Kelly and have to admit, I had a crush on him. I will always remember him as being very sweet, funny, and kind. He will be missed by all. Blessings to all your
family that you may find comfort during this difficult time.
Brenda Lindlief Hall says
Absolutely heartbreaking news. Thinking of Kelly’s family with heavy heart, deepest sympathy, and prayers.
Judith Fenton says
Dear Julie and Family and Friends, I join you all in shock and sorrow over Kelly’s passing. He was one of those who are bigger than life, with a huge smile and hug for everyone. He could get things done when others would give up. He didn’t just talk about making things better, he got out and did the work. I’ll not forget Kelly helping me trap feral cats for our first spay/neuter clinic in Helena in 2004. The Foundation for Animals will greatly miss him. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you.
Eileen Burgess Watson says
I have loved reading all these memories of Kelly, many brought tears, but the smiles & laughs we’ve all shared with Kelly will always stand out. He represents (to all of us I think), what is so amazing about our group of friends in particular, Montana folks in general. Friends who stick together and care about each other, like Kelly did… his kindness touched so many people. Growing up in that west side neighborhood so full of kids & fun, I spent many hours at the Kuntz house hanging out with Kryss, and Kelly always made me feel safe, like he was watching out for us. Luckily for us, Kelly’s strong generous spirit lives on in all of you who loved him…. hugs and prayers for you Kryss & all the Kuntz family
Nick & Cathy Chapman says
Kelly- No words…You will forever be missed.
Glenna Kendall says
Dear Kuntz family and friends,
I have tried countless times to write this but have realized this has been one of the most difficult things I have ever done. My emotions keep interfering and I have to stop and try again. Kelly was one-in-a-million. I will miss his overflowing enthusiasm for life as well as his beaming smile and always pleasant laughter. However, possibly the thing I will miss the most is the exuberant hugs he always gave me at all of our class reunion committee meetings or whenever he saw me around town. Kelly was always so full of life and always made you share this ‘addictive’ positive attitude when you were in his presence. Thank you Kelly for all of the beautiful memories you left all of us. Rest in peace dear buddy, I will miss you…until we meet again.
John Etchart says
Like so many, I was shocked and much saddened to hear of Kelly’s death. He
was a fine, giving fellow and many good community causes will miss him. His
ready smile and quick fun way were a real plus for Kelly’s mass of friends and
acquaintances. I interacted with Kelly many times over many years enjoying
it every time. To the family….I am so sorry.

Anne Beneventi says
Our friendship began in Mrs. Perry’s kindergarten class and I remember his charisma and charm, even as a young child and all my memories of Kelly to follow are filled with joy and humor. In recent years, I experienced his tremendous presence and the depth of his integrity, as he assisted my family at the end of my mother’s life.
I wish I could attend his memorial gathering and pray in gratitude for the good fortune of knowing this human being with a heart big enough to hold us all. I hope there is room in the Cathedral of St. Helena for the multitudes he has touched.

Our hearts are saddened to hear about the loss of Mr. Kelly Kuntz. Your family is in our prayers. He is an angel in heaven watching over y’all. God Bless you Mrs. Kuntz and your family.
Donna Hayes says
Julie and Kuntz family,
I met Kelly when he first joined Davidson’s in 1984 as a “Trainee”. His little study hole was right next to where I used to do all the typing for the Research Department. The things that struck me were Kelly’s smile and his huge caring heart. A day never went by when he didn’t have something nice to say about things or someone, no matter what the situation was. I used to tell him when the “powers to be” were either coming up the stairs or going down that he better get his butt busy and study as him and I had a system worked out to let him know. As I type this what memories of the man flow through my head and heart. This is such a shock to me. I retired in 2002 and lost contact with Kelly and now am kicking my butt because I lived in Helena for 5 months and did not take the time to look him up. I now live in Cascade. Hold on to the memories and he will send you signs that he is with you, trust me on this one. God Bless you!
Colleen Rogan says
I express my sincere sympathy to Kelly’s family and friends. What a sad and sudden loss. As a fellow CHS classmate, my memories of Kelly are filled with his laughter, kindness and enthusiasm. He touched the lives of many and we are better for having known him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

John Sandford says
Kelly was such an out going guy, and so fun to be around. I have lots of great memories of Kelly from 7th grade to high school. Especially, in Junior High when all the elementary schools came together, and we all ran around Hawthorne School before we could drive. We had a lot of fun running around the upper west side, playing football games at the bishop’s, basketball on the Kuntz’s back yard court and hanging out at Sue Reber’s house. Take care, you’re in my thoughts and prayers.
Randy Rusek , Christopher Rusek, Benjamin Rusek says

Tom simkins says
My sincere thoughts to Kuntz family and Julie for you loss. Ronda and myself will always enjoy our memories of Kelly. We will always remember his enthusiasm for life and the good times we shared with him.
Steve Frankino says
Kelly was a giver. He was my neighbor and taught me many things on the basketball court in his back yard, and about life. He always had time for the younger guys in the hood.
Last year, he misdirected a big check in correspondence to me. It was a gift from Kelly to his church and I called and asked if I should forward it for him. We laughed and I did.
Kelly made a lot of money and gave greatly. Most importantly, he gave his time to those that either needed it, and those that he loved.
Lee Cosart says
Near and far, we are all diminished by this loss.
Lynn Erpenbach Morrison says
Julie and Kuntz family,
It is very clear that everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving Kelly felt special. There are no other people in this world who are able to embrace someone with a hug, handshake, laugh or smile like Kelly did to all. Everyone felt loved and safe in his presence (whether business or friendship). My mother Audrey thought of him as her second son, and he was like a brother to me. When he offered advice, you knew to listen as it was heartfelt and thoughtful. There is not a person who knew him that ever imagined life without Kelly. There is such a void. Now, we all see how life should be lived. He did it well. We can learn from his example.
Jacquie Bennett says
My deepest condolences go out to Julie and all the Kuntz family and friends.
Kelly was a very special man n will be missed deeply. He will always have that special place in my heart as he was chosen to be Chaelàs Godfather. I still picture him holding her in the hospital room the day she was born. His large hands holding the little bundle of joy with a huge smile.
I will always hold the great memories from spending the times at the lake cabin n many more. Kelly is now resting in peace. May God bless all with Love n happy memories.
Kori R. Dee says
Dear, sweet and wonderful Julie, Steve and I send you love, hugs and prayers. We are so very sorry and know we are here if you need anything. Kelly is joyfully across the Rainbow Bridge with all of your wonderful four-legged family members who have gone before Kelly. I think Kelly had something to do with our new family member, a yellow Lab who came to us Friday night in need of a new home, his owner could no longer keep him. I will say extra prayers to St. Francis to watch over Kelly. We send you lots of love. Kori and Steve Dee

Lots of fond memories working with Kelly and trying to keep pace with his high energy and huge spirit! Though life took us in different directions, I’m proud to say that Kelly was a friend always. An inspiration, a mentor and a loyal friend … so blessed to have known Kelly Kuntz.

Sincere condolences to the extended Kuntz family. As each of us reflect on our lives and how Kelly had such an influence on them in big and small ways, I can only imagine the loss that those of you closest to him are feeling now. So many kind things have been said about Kelly’s presence that I’m hopeful you are able to find some comfort in the impact he has left behind. As one of so many who were fortunate to have befriended him when we were just kids and going through those sometimes tough years that junior high and high school can bring, to being able to see him at class reunions to witness what a fine man Kelly had become , I am grateful to have crossed paths with Kelly Kuntz. May peace be found for each of you following this tremendous loss.

Mary Elwood says
Julie Kappes and all of the Kuntz family, Where to begin? I met Kelly in 1983 when I went to work for G.T.Murray & Co. Kelly was larger than life. Such a personality. Everyone loved him. I remember when he met you Julie. He was so so excited because he helped you deliver a litter of puppies. I ended up in the D A Davidson Bldg 3 and a half years ago transferring back to the VA in Helena from the VA in Tucson. Imagine my surprise when I walked out of the office for lunch one day and there was Kelly with one of his beautiful labs. He greeted me as though it was 1983 again and all those years had disappeared. That big smile, the twinkling eyes, a hug, and how have you been? I cried when I heard of his passing. Disbelief. shock. how could anyone so vital, energetic, and full of life be gone so young. It is hard to describe how Kelly made you feel good because he treated you like a friend and someone he was genuinely glad to know. We all wish we had that effect on people….. Julie when i worked with him at G T Murray, he talked about you to all of us…. you and your animals. he adored you. People like Kelly, who make everyone around them feel so good, should live forever. But I know God probably needed his spirit and joy in heaven. I know Kelly affected everyone who knew him. May God ease your pain and give you comfort in your many memories. As you can see from the many many many condolences, Kelly had a way of touching the life of everyone he met. God needs angels like Kelly in Heaven. Julie he will always be with you. May God Bless you Eternally with your memories and years with Kelly. I feel privileged to have known him and honored he remembered me after so many years. He had a way of making the least important of us feel like a friend.

My heartfelt condolences to the entire Kuntz and extended family. My prayers and thoughts have been with you since I heard this very sad news. Lou Kuntz, Kelly’s mother, once told me that “Kelly is an eternal optimist” – he really was. I like to imagine that he is with his mother.
When we were little kids growing up together, Kelly was called “King” Kelly. Long live the memory of King Kelly.
Mary and Gary Spaulding says
Dear Julie and all of your families. Was so shocked to hear of Kelly’s passing. He was always so friendly and warm and I will miss hearing “Hi Mair” every time I saw him. He had such a wonderful way about him that made you feel special when ever you saw him. He helped us so much after my mother’s death and I will always be grateful. You and Kelly have both always done so much for our community, especially helping out our four-legged friends, among all your other activities. The last time I saw the two of you was at the Pad for Paws fund raiser at the brewery. Kelly wanted to buy tickets for the raffle but when the girl told him he had to fill out all the tickets he said well, can I just make a donation then. He was always so generous. He was such a wonderful example of “Helena’s Finest”.
Our love and prayers to you all.

Dear ones, I am reeling over the loss of Kelly, my brother Jonathan’s first best childhood friend. I can see them wandering around the neighborhood dressed in their cowboy outfits, and my sister Beth remembers Krissy coming to our door and telling us to send “boy” home. We’ve been out of touch for years, but childhood neighbors hold a
high place of honor. We loved your mom and have some stories like when she ran across the street after an emergency call fom me that Jon was
choking. She saved him and because she was pregnant with Kriss went into labor that night! There are stories about Bob and Kathy, Kraig and Kyle too. My heart, and the hearts of the Sterling’s are with you all during this tragic time, and of course with Kelly’s wife Julie. I know your family is strong, but I pray for extra strength in the days to come. Kelly was so hearty and funny and bright. Our deepest empathy. Kathy Sterling

To the entire Kuntz family and friends:
I have read and re-read the INCREDIBLE testaments of Kelly’s impact on the people around him, and cannot find “new words” to offer. His laugher and enthusiasm touched EVERYBODY within ear and eyeshot. I am saddened by his passing, and find myself asking the question……….what am I supposed to take away? For me, the answer is……..live each day. Let is laugh, hug, golf, and ski with an enthusiasm and celebration that will last a lifetime. Thank you Kelly – for the reminder that life is short and the adventures you shared with us during your time on this earth. CHEERS, LAUGHTER, and Happiness……..
Scott Orser says
So sorry to hear about Kelly’s passing. What a shock to learn that a friend has been called so early. Our love to you, Julie, and to your family. Everyone will miss his infectious smile and kind ways.
Jon Sterling says
Upon hearing of Kelly’s passing, my first-ever childhood buddy, I paused for reflection and the reliving of some early, awesome memories. I was the young boy, a preacher’s son, living across the street with seven sisters and no brothers. Needless to say, Kelly and the Kuntz clan were my asylum and safe haven for the first 12 years of my life– though I know I just went from one kind of chaos to another! Bob and Lou were my second parents, and Kelly was my greatest friend. Memories of harmless mischief, tooling around Canyon Ferry, exploring Mt. Helena, putting thousands of miles on our Schwinn Sting-Rays as we ruled the neighborhoods, and walking to Hawthorne, and then CRA, both ways uphill, in the snow, shooting wolves, have all flooded back to me in all it’s glory! Although Kelly and I had little regular contact over the past 40 years (!) — I moved far away at 12, and our lives crept and leapt forward on different paths — I remain forever thankful and grateful for my time with Kelly and the whole Kuntz family. Both he and his family were generous and caring, and both have been integral influences in my life. Kelly and I certainly grew up in those “Wonder Years”! My one regret now is that I can’t be there as everyone gathers to celebrate Kelly’s life. My thoughts and prayers to all.
Robert (Bob) Kolar) says
With sadness I heard that my Friend, The Great Mr. Kuntz, passed away shortly after my last visit with him. I will always remember and cherish the hot summer nights out at his family cabin on the lake. We would pull up with our boat and He would welcome us to stay overnight and visit. Later I would remember his first stock brokerage job at GT Murray, on the first floor of the Montana Club Building. I remember his excitement when DAD hired him. I remember when he met The Great Ms. Julie and the start of their life together. When we moved back to Montana he was one of the first people to stop by our house with a bottle of wine to welcome us home. Later he became a next-door neighbor, and gave my kids jobs cleaning tree branches around his house. His infectious smile and laugh will be missed. Godspeed Kelly, you will always be remembered.
Candice & Doug Petersen says
Julie and Kuntz Family ~ our deepest condolences to all of you for your loss. We cannot say more than what everyone has shared here. Kelly was a spectacular person who made his mark in our community, our families, our lives. He will be remembered with such fondness, gratitude, and respect by our family.
May God bless you all.
Garry and Debbe Pistoria says
Julie,
To think we saw you both along with meeting your sister the Saturday night before he passed. Kelly was Kelly, moving from table to table to share a greeting, a joke or just a pleasant hello. He moved around the room like he always did at the golf club and it will never be the same out there without him. I ran into him often while we played golf and he always was so jolly and had a few “quips” of advice.
Our profound sympathy for your loss and may God grant you the strength to get through this life changing tragedy.
You will be in our prayers and thoughts.

Peaceful thoughts to the Kuntz Family,
As a CHS classmate of Kelly, I remember having the utmost admiration and respect for him as person. He was instrumental in leaving a legacy for the Class of 1975, as someone who demonstrated extraordinary leadership and success with his charismatic personality and as a visionary who contributed the landmark “Rock” that graces the entrance of Capital High School. The “Rock” is a forever inspiration to this experience called “life”.

I don,t know how to say I’m sorry, it just doesn’t seem big enough for a character like Kelly! My most vivid memory of Kelly was riding in that big ugly orange suburban (?) in scratch gravel chasing rabbits after a few 🙂 beers and Kuntz laughing so hard he was in tears because I started out in the back seat and ended up in the front. He was a good person through and through. I’m deeply saddened for the Kuntz family. God bless. Remember father time is still undeafeated.

I am very saddened to hear about Kelly’s passing. He was a good man and friend to many. It has been a privilege to have known him over the years that began at CRA 4th grade. When we meet again I want to see you block that punt, well this time try too. Take care my friend, until then.

Some of my fondest memories growing up were spending time with Kelly and his family. Whether it was playing cowboys and indians on the Helena westside, out at Canyon Ferry or skiing at Belmont, Kelly was always the life of the party, a best friend and truly a good person. My sincere condolences to Julie, Bob, Kathy, Kraig, Kyle and Kryss and the rest of the Kuntz clan. I’m so thankful for knowing Kelly and the memories I have of him.
Larry & Lisa Murphy says
Dear Julie and family – Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. There was no one else in the world like Kelly; he brought such joy by simply walking into the room. Kelly always had such a happy spirit and kindness to share with everyone. His spirit in our community will be missed as will his friendship We carry him in our hearts now.

Bill and Marsha Davis says
Dear Julie and the Kuntz family,
We extend to you all our love and very deepest sympathy on the loss of Kelly. We were privileged to meet Kelly through his wonderful wife and our amazing and caring veterinarian, Julie. Whenever we happened to see Kelly in town, he always greeted us with warmth, kindness, and good humor. We will always remember his warm and caring qualities, and we will always appreciate his dedication to animal welfare. It is thanks to Kelly and Julie for bringing precious Toby into our lives – an abandoned and severely injured puppy whom they brought into their home and cared for until he was ready for adoption. The world truly needs more such exceptional and goodhearted people.
Sincerely,
Marsha and Bill Davis

Dear Kuntz Family,
I learned about Kelly’s passing from John VanSteenvort and Jim Kielblock. I am as sad and shocked as everyone. As you know, Kelly was a dynamic Nissan/Mazda parts manager for Frontier Imports. After he left to pursue stocks, we missed him terribly. Jack (my husband) passed away this last November, but we often reminisced about Helena days and how we loved Kelly and the Kuntz’s. God be with you, Julie, and comfort you in your hour of sadness. I will pray for you.
Dave and Karen Murray says
We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Kelly. Karen rembers Kelly and John Sterling walking her to school as children, and later in high school he would always be the first to say Hi. I remember Kelly’s great sense of humor, kindness, and he would always have his hand out to shake yours, and always with “that smile”. Our thoughts and prayers to the Kuntz family.

To all of Kelly’s family and friends, though I haven’t seen him in years, the shock is just the same. My heartfelt wishes for your sudden loss and know he will remain forever in our hearts.

So sorry to hear of Kellys passing. He was such a character, I remember being so excited as a little girl when Kelly would show up around all the guys and us kids never went unnoticed. In Helena growing up, I remember seeing him out and about and he always took the time to smile and say hello, he called me Brookie, about the only other adult that was allowed because it was with such sincerity. He will be greatly missed by all.
