I was so saddened to hear of the loss of Scotty. Mike often talks of the exploits the friends had together, always ending with a smile. Life brings many challenges upon us, and it always sounded like Scotty managed those challenges with flair and enthusiasm. I had hoped to get to know him better over the coming years, and was blessed to be a part of his life, his children’s, and his grandchildrens. May he find peace now in his heart.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families. I know this is a tremendous loss for all. I grew up with Kenneth and he was always one to make everyone smile no matter what kind of day it was. He was an honest hard working guy that was never selfish. He truly will be missed

Scotty, along with some other nicknames (all of them fitting) can always be described as an absolute true and loyal friend. Having retired from DAC a few years ago, he left impressions on our young guys (and us older guys) strong enough to make them want to work hard, want to learn our craft and respect the trades. His name still comes up often when reminiscing over past projects and all would ask what’s he up to, or where is Gismo these days. I knew Scotty in high school and his personality has never wavered. Outgoing, always willing to help and forever faithful. We will miss the stories, the laughs and the joy only Scotty could create. Will miss you friend!!

I never met Scott face-to-face – only over the phone while helping him with his taxes. Yet during those conversations I felt I was getting to know him. I enjoyed those marathon talks and I loved hearing what Scott was up to. I know we would have had a blast if we had ever met in person – I can tell what a great guy he was. My prayers and thoughts go out to the entire family. May Scott rest in peace.

    October 6, 2017 at 9:09 am

We are so sad to hear of Scott’s passing. I’m at a loss for words. It just doesn’t seem right that a kid you watched grow up, should pass before his life was fully lived. The thing that I will always remember about Scott is his smile. He didn’t just smile with his mouth. He smiled with his whole face. He was always so jovial and his eyes always twinkled. And of course, who could forget the amount of milk that Scott could get Perky to give him. That ole milk cow was madly in love with him. Your Mom and I used to laugh about that. I’ve only seen Scott a few times in the last few years, but he always met us with that great smile and a huge hug. He will be greatly missed. Norm and I can’t be in Helena for the memorial, but you all know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. May your wonderful memories help to carry you through this most difficult time.
