On May 21, 2013, Elsa Kristina (Tina) Jackson of Helena passed away. Her tiny body and big heart could no longer bear the burden of battling years of crippling arthritis. Tina was 65 years old. Tina was born in Corpus Christi Texas on April 23, 1948. She was the second child of Ingastina and Wilson P Snyder.
Tina grew up in Corpus Christi where she graduated from King High School. After raising her three children, she settled in Montana to be near her son and his family. She spent several years living in Wolf Creek Montana in her (little cabin) as she called it. She recently moved to Helena to be closer for her medical care.
Tina was a fun loving woman, with a heart as big as Texas. She enjoyed life despite many hardships. She always found a little bit of good in all things bad. Her love of giving during the holidays was contagious. She loved her faithful companion, her dog, Donner, who was by her side till the end. She was quite the treasure that will be dearly missed.
Tina was preceded in death by her mother, Ingastina (Elmdahl) Snyder and her father, Wilson P Snyder. She is survived by her children, Frederick (Calesta) Jackson of Helena Montana, Baxter (Hadeel) Jackson of United Arab Emirates and Julianna Jackson of Texas. Her siblings, Fritz (Rebecca) Snyder of Texas, Christopher (Molly) Snyder of Alabama and Regina “Pepper” Snyder of Texas. Her three grand-children, Kirsten and Camryn Jackson of Helena Montana and Ava Blaskovich of Texas. She also had numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a private viewing for the family before cremation. Tina wished to return home to the beaches of Padre Island where there will be a family memorial at a later date.

Tina is a free spirit, at peace with herself, and knows that she is loved. If you could hear her, I truly believe that is what she would tell you.

Life is always shorter than we think. When I visited USA in 1978 and met my American second cousins for the first time, we were all young. Suddenly, we are just young in mind… We never met again, Tina, but I’m glad for this only meeting. It meant a lot to me! Best regards, Jan Eklund, Stockholm, Sweden / Albufeira, Portugal.

I was Tina’s best friend when she attended Moravian Seminary for Girls back in the early 60’s. I met your Mom and Dad when I visited Corpus Christi and they took us to Mexico. I am so sorry to read about this. I discovered this when I put her name in Facebook.
Jill Thomas says
I’m so sorry to hear about Tina’s passing. I only knew her for a short time more than 10 years ago, but she loved me instantly and fully and I loved her in return. I have never met someone who could give so much from so little. She was rich beyond money. I am certain her family misses her very much. My heart goes out to her son Bax, who no matter how far away he traveled, I know always kept his mama close to his heart. So sorry for you loss.
