December 26, 1940 – February 23, 2017

Linda Madsen McKeown, 76, of Townsend passed away peacefully on February 23, 2017 after a brave battle with an extended illness. She was surrounded by her husband Patrick and her family.

Linda was born in Helena MT on December 26, 1940 to Harold and Wilhelmina (Wickersheim) Madsen. She was the third child of a family of seven children.

She married James Loescher on October 6, 1973 and he passed away on November 2, 1994. She then married Patrick McKeown, whom she met in Sturgis SD, on October 9, 2004.

Linda worked hard since she was a young teenager and never took the easy road to get things done. She worked at many professions including, car hop, waitress, bar tender, she also managed the Veterinarian clinic that her first husband owned and operated here in Helena. She took pride in her work even when she was retired, keeping her yard beautiful and groomed.

Linda loved to go fishing with her husband Patrick and socializing with all their friends in the Townsend area. She also loved fishing with friends in South Dakota where Patrick was from, they would come back with walleye, northern, and cat fish, along with good stories and great pictures.

She is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Wilhelmina (Wickersheim) Madsen, her sister Shirley Madsen Olson of Helena, brother William (Billy) Madsen of Petersburgh VA and her first husband James Loescher.

She is survived by her husband Patrick McKeown, step daughter Amanda Flage and her husband Scott, step daughter Denise McKeown and her son Malcom Innes, all whom she adored.  Included also, are her brothers Harold Madsen (Ellen), brother Lester Madsen (Susan), brother David Madsen (Susan) and brother Farrell Madsen (Suzanne), as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

    Hi Pat and Family,
I know Pat from Print and Mail. I park next to him everyday. On Valentine’s Day I saw a bouquet of flowers sitting in his font seat. It made me smile and I’m sure it made your beautiful Linda smile too. Please find comfort in these hard times by sharing fond memories.

I have so many memories, that date back. When we moved away, and came back to visit, Skip and I would tease with Aunt Linda and Aunt Shirley, who was their fave. Of course it was always me? LOL I also remember visiting Aunt Linda and Jim in their mountian side home in the mountains of Montana, great memories!! Then for a few they moved to Hastings, NE and I was able to go visit with her then. Then later in life, we were able to spend time with Aunt Linda and Pat. What a lady!! Her smile and attitude brought joy to everyone!! Love you!! 🙂
