In Memory Of

Lindsey Jo Nickel

August 11, 1989 – September 25, 2010

Lindsey Jo Nickel was born on August 11, 1989, in Salem, Oregon. Lindsey passed away on Saturday, September 25, in Great Falls due to complications from a grand mal seizure.

Lindsey was a vibrant young lady who enjoyed life to the fullest and loved life to the fullest. She never missed an opportunity to tell someone she cared about that she loved them. You always knew when Lindsey loved you because she couldn’t help but show it. Lindsey was always the first one to run up and throw her arms around you when you needed a hug. Lindsey always had a smile on her face and she could always put a smile on the faces of others.

She graduated from Capital High School in 2008. She was currently enrolled at the Salon Professionals Academy in Great Falls due to begin on November 4. Before moving to Great Falls just a few weeks ago Lindsey was employed at Lowe’s Home Improvement as a customer service representative and attended classes at the University of Montana – Helena.

Lindsey is survived by her parents, Larry and stepmother Debbie, brother Cody of Bozeman, sisters Calli of Butte and Jamie (John) Eva and her nephew Jacob and niece Madison Eva, of Helena. Also surviving Lindsey are her grandparents Ted and Dorothy Swift of Lewistown; Jack and Mary Nickel of Helena; Lucille Potter of Great Falls; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lindsey was preceded in death by her mother Nancy in 1998.

A special Thank You to Beth Barry for taking the time, energy and love to teach and mentor Lindsey, we are so grateful to you.

One of Lindsey’s favorite scriptures in the Bible: For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me with all your heart. ~ Jeremiah 29:11-13

Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m., Wed., Sept. 29 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home and continue through Thurs., Sept. 30. Family will begin to receive friends, Thurs., Sept 30 at 3-5 p.m. at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Fri., Oct. 1 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 512 Logan St. Interment will be held at 10 a.m., Sat., Oct. 2 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. My name is Solea, and I was a friend of Nancy’s from Salem. I was informed today of Lindsey’s passing. I am so sorry for your loss and want you to know that you are in my prayers.

I was close to Nancy during her pregnancy and remember how excited she was for Lindsey’s arrival and how much she loved her.

I am asking God to wrap His arms of love around you during this time and to bring you others who can comfort you.

    Lovingly,

I am Lindsey’s cousin from Oregon. My mother is Eileen (Norris) Miller and her brother is Lindsey’s biological “father”.

I am so sorry for your family’s loss. I wish with all my heart I could have known Lindsey in her life time. I didn’t realize how much of an adult she was because the only pictures I’ve ever seen of her are baby pictures.

Please know that we are also mourning her loss and are so sorry for what has happened.

I wish we had gotten to know Lindsey better. We met her through our daughter, Tanya, and she has been to our home. However, every time we went to Lowe’s we were greeted by her lovely smile, a warm infectious hug, and a friendly “hi Don and Patty”. She was a sweet young woman who we will always fondly remember.
