April 4, 1962 – August 7, 2011

Lisa Deanne Rose, 49, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011, after vigorously battling cancer for the past year.

Lisa was born on April 4, 1962 in Helena, Montana to Myrl and Mona Rose. She attended Rossiter Elementary School and graduated from Capital High School in 1980. Lisa graduated Valedictorian from Alaska Computer School of Technology with a degree in Computer Programming and Operations in 1985.

She married Vince Charlton in Anchorage, Alaska in 1984 and had two daughters, Klaralee Rose Charlton Mosness and Lindsay Marie Charlton.

Raising her daughters and imparting to them a love of nature, the skills of homemaking and a love of Christ was Lisa’s primary endeavor. She later utilized her talents in a variety of jobs in Helena, working at Valley Farms, Montana Health Systems, New West Health Services, Sky West Airlines, and Helena Community Credit Union.

Throughout her life, Lisa engaged in countless ventures including teaching Sabbath school in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, organizing vegetarian cooking classes, slalom skiing on Hauser Lake, backpacking in the Sawtooth Idaho mountains, serving missions in the Philippines and collecting shoes of every height, style,
and color.

Lisa is survived by her daughters, Klaralee Rose Charlton Mosness (Ronald) of Salt Lake City, Utah and Lindsay Marie Charlton of Helena; parents, Myrl and Mona Rose of Helena; former spouse, Vince Charlton of Helena; siblings Sandra Rose of Marietta, California, Cindy Rose of Helena, Richard Rose (Susan) of Missoula, Joni Grovom (Steve) of Helena, and Kenneth Rose (Regina) of Honolulu, Hawaii; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to extend the greatest thanks to Jere Blattner, a loving friend, who provided never-ending comfort and care for Lisa until the very end.

The family will receive friends at a viewing on Friday, August 12, 2011 from 4-6 pm at the Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home. Services will take place on Saturday morning, August 13, 2011. The Funeral Rite of the Greek Orthodox Church will be performed at the Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 650 Logan Street, at 9:30 a.m. A traditional graveside service will then take place at Forestvale Cemetery, at the corner of Forestvale and McHugh, at 11:00 a.m. with refreshments to follow at the Rose home, 5320 North Montana Ave. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.aswfuneralhome.com.

Your style was as unique as your personality. You shared many aspects of life that will be forever in our heart. You have no more pain and have passed this onto us. Our hurt will slowly disappear as yours did not until the union with your new family. There is one lucky place now receiving your gift.
Love you Lisa and realize even more our bond as sisters.

Aloha Lisa – My protector, my beutiful sister whome I always looked up to. You fought the bullies until I learned to take on the bullies myself. We argued over ‘the’ bathroom yet I always felt priveledged you were my sister. Your confidence and living life to its fullest always inspired me to make my own choices; boldly. I’m comforted you are at peace after fighting the cancer bully boldly and with grace. I take hope and look forward to the day, at the shout of the arch angel when we will be rejoined. Oh death where is your victory, where is your sting?

  12. Linda May says

    November 30, -0001 at 12:00 am

I was so blessed to have had the opportunity to work with Lisa at Montana Health Systems. She was so filled with the love of Jesus. The one thing that will never leave me is how she loved her girls. I someday knew that I wanted to love my children and speak with such love about them as she did about hers, and when I left work to be a stay at home mom and she came and saw me in the hospital she signed my little girls wall haning and wrote that my baby was a gift to the world but what she didn’t realize was that she was gift to me. Thanks Lisa for showing me by example uncondional love. I Will miss you and always think of you, with your awesome shoes! Love, Linda

  21. Peggy, Mitch, and Shaelynn Mundy says

    November 30, -0001 at 12:00 am

Cindy and family, Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer. Should you need anything, you just need to ask.
God saw her getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around her and whispered “come to me.” With tearful eyes we watched her, and saw her pass away. Although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
    Please accept our heartfelt sympathy,
    Peggy, Mitch and Shaelynn

  22. Renee Britschgi says

    November 30, -0001 at 12:00 am

I am truly sorry for your loss. I worked with Lisa at New West and she had become a good friend. I did not get to see her as much once she left NW, but when I did see her it was a pure joy. Her and her shoes. Loved them. I saw her last fall and that is when I found out she was ill and very saddened by it. One of my coworkers saw her just two weeks ago and we tried the numbers that I had for her and was never able to get ahold of her. We are very saddened, that we did not get to see her and share some memories with her. We will keep her in our prayers always. RB
