On the morning of April 21st, 2016, Lloyd Kermit Hovden passed away in the comfort of his home of natural causes.
Lloyd was born on August 30th, 1935, in Fairfield Montana, as the fifth of seven children to Lars and Bertha Hovden. Lloyd Graduated from Fairfield High School and soon married the love of his life Shirley Skeie, on December 18th, 1953. They built a family together and raised four children; Dennis, Roger, Darcy, and Darla. Lloyd spent the majority of his career working with his family, the most recent driving taxi. Lloyd was a man who enjoyed a humble life. His favorite activities included fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. He loved his family dearly and often said, “With a family like mine, who needs anything else.” He will be missed.
His wife Shirley Hovden precedes Lloyd in death. She passed on June 23rd, 1978.
Lloyd is survived in death by, his children; Dennis and Trudi Hovden, Roger and Nikki Hovden, Darcy Hovden, and Darla Helmerick(Hovden) His siblings; Bill Hovden, Margaret Owen, and Betty Jo and Bob Nelson. His grandchildren; Morgan McGee, Josh Helmerick, Jeremy Hovden, Stephanie Hovden, Emma Ellwein, Lisa Hovden, and Amanda Helmerick. His Great-Grand Children; Ava Ellwein, Liam Hovden, Kieran Ellwein.
A remembrance of life will be held at the Highland Cemetery on June 11th at 1:00 P.M. in Great Falls, Montana. A reception will follow at the Eagles Manor at 2:00PM, 1501 9th St. South, Great Falls Montana. The entrance is in the back. I am so sorry to hear of Lloyd’s passing. He was a classmate of my dad’s, Clarence Schmidt. The great class of 1953. When my father passed away he sent me a note. They are together again catching up and laughing! Thoughts and prayers to everyone.
