In Memory Of

Loa Mae Giacoma, age 93, of Wolf Creek

May 23, 1932 – May 27, 2025

Loa Mae Palmer passed away peacefully with her husband Jack at her side on Tuesday May 27, 2025 in her home overlooking Holter Lake. She was born in Cresbard, South Dakota on May 23, 1932 to Lawrence G. and Nellie (Thompson) Palmer. She grew up in Butte, MT and graduated from Butte High.  Loa married the love of her life and partner forever,  Jack Giacoma, on July 12, 1965 in Butte.

Loa was a very talented person having stints as a professional photographer and a clothing model before becoming Jack’s spouse and business partner.  Together they owned and managed a successful beer distributorship in Butte, a bar/restaurant on Holter Lake and a Holter Lake marina and RV resort. She worked hard and was always the center of fun and attention around family, friends and customers.

Loa is preceded in death by her parents, and her four siblings.

    It’s only been a few days but my routine is upside down. I don’t get to wake you up. I don’t get to wash your face and brush your hair. I don’t get to feed you and hear you say “oh that’s good and then the next bite oh that’s terrible. “I don’t get to see you out on the deck waving at me. I don’t get to hear you say “the lunch lady is here.” I don’t get to tuck you into bed and hear you say “I love you.”, and you saying “Thank you, thank you thank you.” I will miss your beautiful singing voice, and your favorite song “bring out the barrel”. We all knew you and Jack were safe in the house because you made sure the doors were always locked! (Every 15 minutes)🤣 I bet you are greeting people who are coming through the gates of heaven, because you are checking the doors. I hope you found the coke and chocolate factory.

    Thank you for all the memories, trips, adventures we took, and our “pinkie promises” Loa Mae, I will look after
    “Your Jolly Jack”

    Della Mae

We believe we will see you again. Father, eternal rest give to her, oh Lord, let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Love & hugs to Jack and all the family.

    A beautiful memory my father, Guy shared with me;
    His sister, Loa and he found and bought the house to bring home the new baby
    While my Mom was in the Murray Clinic was giving birth to their first born.
    I have so many wonderful memories of my Aunt Loa Mae growing up with her great influences.
    The summer I stayed and helped Loa and Jack at the lodge was one of the most joyful times! Never to be forgotten!

    Time is a companion that goes with us on life’s journey. It reminds us to cherish each moment because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we lived.

    In the years that I had known you, and the times that we had spent together we had a bond that can’t be explained. When you would loose Jack. You always came to me to help you find him, and he wasn’tfar away. We went often to the Elks Club together and you would sing with all the karaoke 🎤 singers. I will never forget your beautiful smile and the unique friendship that we had. You were beautiful in your heart and soul. You were always happy to see me, especially when I cooked and brought you and Jack a lot of baked goods. I will never forget all the great times that we have shared. I will be missing you always. Love you forever.

    Hard to think if you guys individually, it was always Jack and Loa. You guys were always making people smile. House calls when Loa was hurting she always kept that smile and giggle. You guys had a good run which makes it hard to say goodbye. Memories are what sustain us until we meet again. We wish you peace.
