December 5, 1938 – February 19, 2017

Lois (Cole) Buerkle passed away early Sunday morning, February 19th, 2017, surrounded by family and friends at Elkhorn Health and Rehab after a lengthy illness.

Lois was born December 5th, 1938 at St. John’s Hospital in Helena to Louis J. Cole and Frances (Morrow) Cole. Lois lived most of her life in Helena taking care of others. She worked more than 30 years at St. Peter’s Hospital, and she always kept herself busy donating time and money to charities.

Lois is survived by her aunt Irene Cole and family, her daughter Valerie Ewals, son-in-law Tom and granddaughter Brooke, her daughter Patty Johnson and grandson Rob Brazel, her sister Bonnie (Cole) Melendrez, her brothers Jimmy, Jack, Frank and Elmer Cole, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to our extended family Elkhorn Health and Rehab staff and residents. We are forever grateful for the exceptional care for Lois and the friendships built along the way.

Valerie and family, Patty and family, my deepest sympathy to you all. I am sorry for your loss of Lois. I didn’t know she was so ill and I extend my prayers to you all. May God bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand. She was quite a character and always had something to say that made a person think.
Even though I am not able to attend her memorial service, I am there is spirit.
    Blessings to you all.
    Shirley Cole

I guess that I need to write more. So many years have passed since I first met Lois. She kept many people happy when she gave them their treatments in the hospital including me.
