Lois Fraser Fred Harrington
Lois Harrington peacefully left this earth on Sunday, November 13 from natural causes. She had her precious children by her side. Lois Muriel Fraser was born on January 20, 1924 to Harrison and Fern Fraser in Helena, Montana. She attended Kessler Elementary and graduated from Helena High School in 1942 and attended the University of Montana following graduation. Lois married her high school sweetheart, Harry Fred in September of 1943 in Boulder, MT. Lois lived and worked in Seattle for two years while Harry served on the Pacific front. After WWII, they returned to Helena to start their family. They had the “ideal” family—son John and daughter Jayne. Harry passed away in July 1970.
Lois met Jim Harrington in 1973 and they were married in July of 1975. Together they enjoyed many travels—England, Scotland, Vietnam, Thailand, and Australia. They also enjoyed golfing at Bill Robert’s and in Sedona, Arizona. Once they were both retired they spent winters at their home in Sedona. Lois loved to play card games, knit, read and watch the Young and the Restless. Most of all she loved her children and following the activities of grandchildren. Lois worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 25 years and retired in 1979.
Lois is survived by her husband Jim; son and daughter-in-law John and Leota Fred; daughter and son-in-law Jayne and Al Davis; brother Harrison Fraser; grandsons Brandon Davis and Joshua Fred; granddaughters Heather Lieberg (Jarad), Julie Menden (Kevin), Heidi Fred and Sarah Fred; great-grandchildren Taelyr, Jaxan, Lauryn Lieberg, Kylah and Austin Davis, Damon and Nicholas Weierke, and Lily Fred and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry and grandson Jamie Fred.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church with the family receiving friends at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Jason Lieberg officiating. Burial service will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hospice of St. Peter’s c/o St. Peter’s Hospital, 2475 Broadway, Helena, MT 59601.
