In Memory Of

Lois Jean Dehler

August 21, 1932 – January 12, 2012

We lost our dear Jeanne Dehler in the early morning of January 12, 2012. Jeanne was born August 21, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri to Jeanette Nave and was raised in Missouri. She had ten half-siblings, Peggy Pecora, Barbara Trostel, Betty Custock, and Tommy and Richard Ayers all preceded her in death. She is survived by Marilyn Turner, Joyce Beshears, Donnie, Jerry and Ronnie Ayers.

Jeanne was first married at age 15 to Bill Griffith and worked with him in his tavern business for 13 years. She was later married to Walter Dehler for 13 years. Both men are deceased. Walter’s job as a highway engineer with Morrison Maierle brought her to Montana where she became active in the Helena Trail Riders and Big Sky Riders. Jeanne loved kids and kids loved Jeanne so soon after her arrival in Helena in 1969 she started working as the Recreation Director at Mountain View School for Girls; retiring in 1993. After her retirement, she had a day-care in her home for twelve years. During her years at Mountain View and while owning the day-care, she made many lasting relationships.

Jeanne never had children so she created a family of her own and is survived by dear friends, Marlene and Gene Richeson; Marlene’s children, Peg, Sue and Richard Holbert who called her “Aunt Jeanne;” Teresa Waite and her children, Geneva, Kayce and Stacy Waite; their children, Allisyn, Ashley, Aaron, Cadien and Tarren; her “Main Man” Cole Wollitz; Kim, Jeremy and Aaron Wollitz; Wes, Shane, and Brook Feist and their girls; Becky, Doc, Jessica and Austin Dockery and countless others. Jeanne was a lot of fun and will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Jeanne’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 20th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. followed by a potluck reception at the American Legion. All are welcome. Memorials may be made to the Lewis and Clark Humane Society, P.O. Box 4455, Helena, MT 59604. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.aswfuneralhome.com

Jeannie will be greatly missed by all of us who knew her from the Rodney Street neighborhood. Her blue house so full of life and love. Gods speed.

I will miss my sister very much, she was the most caring and understanding person I know, my husband thought she was the greatest he loved being around her every chance we got! She definitely was her Mother’s daughter because she had all the same wonderful traits.

    Dear Jeanne,

I miss you. I’m sorry you never got to meet my babies. I know you’d love them just as much as you love me. Cadie is crazy, she’s so busy and the way she sleeps reminds me of you. Emma is more mellow. Both of them look like their daddy. You would really enjoy Charles. He’s a good man and he makes me happy. Maybe you’ve met his Gramma up there. I know you’re both watching over us. I just wish I could sit and talk with you again. They took out your rock garden out front, but they must’ve liked your blue trim because they’ve kept up on that. It’s going to be your birthday soon. You’ll be 84 this year. Maybe I can find a power ranger for you. We love you Jeanne.

    Until we meet again,
    Sissy
