In Memory Of

Lois L. Tullis, age 75 of Helena

August 14, 1946 – May 25, 2022

Lois Tullis, 75, died May 25, 2022, Melanie, her daughter by her side in Helena, Montana.

She was born August 14, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri to Lloyd and Ida Louise Waldrop. Her father was a machinist and her mother worked as a seamstress.

Before she entered the profession of being a wife and mother, she worked as a dental assistant in Kansas City, Kansas.

Lois was married to the love of her life, Charles Tullis on April 9, 1971. They were together for forty-two years until Charles death on March 7, 2014. He also passed on due to cancer. From their union of many blissful years, they had four girls, April, Amy, Melanie, and Karen.

Lois credits her beautiful singing voice from the raising of their four children. When they mis-behaved, which happened quite frequently, she would sing out loud to keep herself calm. As a result of so much practice, she developed an amazing and beautiful singing voice.

She enjoyed taking care of her children. She also enjoyed cooking and baking and passing those traits on to her daughters. It is said that she greatly disliked sewing, so she depended on her sister, Alice, to do all the work. She also was part of a bowling league.

She enjoyed the self-sufficient homestead life of raising cows and chickens. She gave all this up in 2013 to come to Helena, Montana to help plant a church of Christ in the community.

Lois believed in securing her eternal life after this physical life would end. From diligent study of God’s Word, she obeyed the gospel and became a member of the Lord’s church around 1965.

Mrs. Tullis is survived by her daughters, Amy, Melanie, April and her Husband Bill, and Karen and her husband Joe; 3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Angeline, and Alice, and her husband, Charles Tullis.

A memorial service will be at Retz Funeral Home at 9 AM, May 31st with a burial following at Montana State Veterans Cemetery, at Fort Harrison at 10:15 AM.
