Lorena “Lori” Lynn Velasquez, 62, of Helena went to be with Our Lord and Savior in her sleep on the morning of August 9th. after a long battle with chronic illness.
Lori was born on August 8th. 1954 in Denver Colorado to Neal Ray Williams and Wilhelmina “Billie” (Sturn)Williams. She was the second to youngest of four children.
As a young child, Lori lived in various places including Oregon, Colorado and New Mexico. Later in her youth, she moved to the her mother’s hometown of Helena where she started her life making many friends along the way. In 1978 she married her soul mate and best friend “Les Velasquez”.
Lori was a very devout Christian who loved the Lord and tried to follow and raise her children with strong morals and a love and respect for all. She chose to be a devoted wife and mother and was supportive of her husband’s Ministry. Later she became a foster mother to many who still call her mom.
Lori loved what God created and all the natural art in creation. She was very artistic and loved to paint when she was younger. There were many things she loved to do like gardening, reading and spending her time on puzzles. She also loved the outdoors with many camping and fishing trips withthe family. Animals loved her almost as much as she loved them. Most of all, Lori loved her family and spent as much time with them as what was possible no matter how she felt. Time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was what she lived for and she will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Lori was proceeded by death by Les Velasquez husband, Neil Williams father, Wilhelmina “Billie” Williams mother, Rick Williams brother and Carol Henry sister. Lori is survived by her Aunt Ginny Rogers and brother Tim Williams. She is also survived by her children Adam Velasquez(Susan), Amber Gallegos(Lonny) her step children Ray Velasquez(Danielle), Carol Velasquez, Synthia Velasquez. Grandchildren: Joey, Christian, Dakota, Ryan, Arlo, Xavier, Anna, Emily and Jeannette Velasquez, Christopher, James, Liza and Heidi LaRue. Sylvia and Stacy Gallegos. Great-Grandchildren: Adam Velasquez, Richter, Kadence, and Carson Gallegos. Leona LaRue. Close Friends: Cindy Parry, Donna Hagman, Rosenette Young and Cheryl Green. Any memorials should be donated to Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America.

Lori was ones of the sweetest person I have ever met. We met 35 years ago. We shared many laughs and have seen each other through some really rough times. The world seems emptier knowing she is gone. Lori truly loved the Lord we pray she is with him now. Goodbye dear friend, you will be truly missed
