Louis (Louie) Miros passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, with his family by his side.
Louie was born November 9, 1939, in Winifred, Montana to Matt and Viola Miros. Louie had a great sense of humor, loved to tell stories and loved his family.
In 1958 Louie graduated from Winifred High School. After graduation he joined the Army and was stationed in Fort Carson, Colorado. He served in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1961. He returned to Montana and worked in construction and the oil fields. On May 31, 1964, Louie married the love of his life Barbara (Barb) Ann Fisher. In 1965 Louie went to work for Farmers Union Oil in Lewistown, Montana.
Barb and Louie brought two sons into the world, Robert (Rob) and Richard (Rich). They raised their sons in Lewistown until 1984 when they moved to Poplar, Montana. Louie worked for Farmers Union Oil in Poplar until 2006, he then retired and moved to Helena to be closer to their kids. He enjoyed sports, camping, riding motorcycles, hunting, snowmobiling and playing cards with family and friends. Louie was a lifelong member of the Algeria Shrine and the Friendship Lodge 37 of Lewistown.
During his retirement he held several side jobs, but one of the most enjoyable was working for Enterprise Car Rental, where he met a group of guys that became lifelong friends. Telling stories and lies while they transferred cars to various locations. They continued their story telling sessions at the local brewery on their days off.
Upon leaving a room with family and friends, Louie would say, “Well, glad you got to see me”. We would laugh, but he was right, we were glad to see him. We were all lucky to have had him in our lives.
Louie is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barb, and his son Rob (Gayna). He had two grandchildren Kurtis Miros (Tabatha) and Becky Lang (Dylan). He was blessed with four great grandchildren Casee, Jackson, Emily and Harlow as well as one great great-grandchild Carsen as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also survived by his fury friend and companion Zoe.
Louie was preceded in death by his parents Matt and Viola, his sisters Beverly Erickson, Jeanette Boyle, and Opal Aldrich, his brother Francis Tripeke, and his son Richard Miros.
Viewing hours will be 3:00 – 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on October 29, 2025, at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home. A burial with Military Honors will be at Forestvale Cemetery immediately after the funeral service.
