The Memorial Service will be broadcasted live starting at 11:45 a.m. with the service beginning at Noon.
On September 7, 2022, Lowell Earl Wasser, Jr. became an angel. We lost a grandfather, father, brother, and friend.
Lowell was born on May 28, 1930, in Portland, Oregon, to Lowell Earl Wasser, Sr and Evelyn Wasser, the oldest of three brothers.
Lowell attended local schools in Tacoma, Washington, and graduated from Stadium High School. Upon graduation, Lowell went into the Army having served from June 25, 1951 to March 26, 1953. While in the Army, Lowell was stationed in Korea and Japan.
After serving his country, Lowell returned to Tacoma, Washington and married Marie Francis Anich. Together they had two children, sons Tony and Paul. They later divorced. Later Lowell married Barbara Jean (Seal) Isakson and helped raise 4 step daughters. They later divorced.
Lowell started working at an early age with a paper route. He delivered papers in the morning before school and also delivered the afternoon paper after he got home from school. Lowell started working Associated Food Stores as a box boy and worked his way through the ranks to eventually became a Store Manager.
Later in his career, Lowell worked for Kelly Clark and became a Shelf Management Specialist for Super Value, which enabled him to travel to various locations in the Northwest and complete store resets. He loved his travels to Alaska. He loved the remote areas of Alaska where he got to experience their culture and way of life.
In the fall of 2019, Lowell decided he needed a change of scenery from the hustle and bustle of Tacoma and moved to Montana. Lowell jousted with his friend David Podvin that Lowell beat him to Montana. David and his wife Ann are good friend of Lowell’s and Lowell was so excited to be close to them in Montana.
Lowell loved his home in Montana. His doors were always open and he welcomed you with open arms when you came to see him and always offered you a drink of your choice. He loved his Seattle Seahawks and he always watched them on TV when they were playing.
Lowell became a member of the American Legion, Lewis & Clark Post No.2 and served as an Ambassador representing Helena American Legion at conventions.
Lowell was outgoing, dedicated, disciplined, adventurous, the life of the party, but mostly Lowell was a true gentleman. He always opened doors for ladies, walked on the outer side of the sidewalk making sure that his lady was on the inside, and he loved to give flowers to the ladies.
Lowell was a friend to many. He loved to joke with you and tease you, but he loved it even more when you teased him back.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell E. Wasser Sr., and Evelyn Wasser.
He is survived by special his special friend Dee Bleken, and Dave and Ann Podvin, sons Tony (Mike Webb) Wasser, Paul (Claudia) Wasser, and grandchildren Brenna Marie, Stefan Anton, Emory, and Evelyn Grace, brother Robert (Julie) Wasser, nephew Mark (Dina) Wasser, niece Merri (Terry) Shunk, brother William (Carol) Wasser; and nephew William (Billy) E. Wasser.
Lowell will be missed by so many.
Rest in peace Lowell!!

Dear, sweet Lowell. Where do we start. It has been such a pleasure for Gary and I to have been your friends for over 22 years. We have had some great times together at Harbor Lights, Johnny’s Dock, for food and drinks and on vacation a number of times. You and Gary have celebrated many birthday together at our house and the most special one was when our Lieutenant Colonel friend presented you with your well deserved metals from the Korean War. You were so honored by that gesture. We are so glad we were able to spent time with you in Helena this Summer. To see you, your beautiful home and meet some of your friends. Our memories will always be in our hearts. RIP Dear friend. Gary and Nancy

Lowell:
You were always my “special friend” and I will never forget you. Our trip to CA and Mexico was a highlight of my life. Our stay on Coronado island was spectacular and filled with many adventures. We shared many memories of past and current times. Decorating the Christmas tree with your mother’s decorations was a very special time for us as we handled each precious decoration with softness.
Gone but never forgotten.
Your special friend.

I worked many a reset with Lowell and let me tell you, his company got their monies worth from him. He put in long hours and was like a bulldog protecting shelf space for the manufacturers he represented. He was a great guy to talk to and his stories over lunch were priceless.
Gary Allason says
I traveled with and worked many many reset projects with Lowell in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and Guam. There was a group of us that did this. He loved the work, the comradery, the companionship, the meals together, the breaks together, the time spent in the hotels room eating pizza watching Sports, Fox News, and a Glenlivet or two……………..always in a “BUCKET GLASS”. The only people that didn’t love and enjoy Lowell were people that didn’t like to work. And Lowell had no time for them. He was the hardest working, most dedicated to his employer, customer, co-worker that I have ever worked with. Old School in many ways but sharp as a tack and very aware of the times. When our expense reports switched from paper reports to on line ones, I was the “lucky one” that he would ask help from. I’d sit down and walk him through the screens. He would type with his left hand middle finger. So when he would pop into my cube and say, “Can you help he with my expenses?” I knew that i was going to be there for the next 30 minutes and that was OK. I would give anything to help him for 30 minutes today. He had a great sense of humor, would take a joke as easy as he could give one. We lost a great man. It was an honor to know him and for him to be my friend and to have him call me his friend. Love you Lowell

I agree with what Gary Allison said about Lowell, what a great man always fun to be around . Many of our projects were difficult, but when Lowell was with us he was the strength of the group and made our life much easier. I loved to hear his stories and the many personal projects working on his house. He was always welcome at our house and we will certainly miss him.

I too, was one of the lucky ones that got to work with Lowell. He had more passion and could out work all of the “young” kids”. Lowell was a wonderful man. Rest in heaven my dear friend.
