Lynn Marie Hofeldt, 41, of Helena, MT passed away on September 2, 2018 in Encinitas, CA after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones. Lynn grew up on the family ranch south of Chinook, MT. She attended Lloyd School for 3 years then Chinook schools and graduated in 1995. After graduation Lynn attended Brooks College and studied Fashion Merchandising in Long Beach, CA and graduated in 1997. She nannied in California for several years. She loved living near the ocean. She moved to Omaha, NE and attended Cosmetology school. She worked at various salons and nannied in Nebraska, Arizona, and Texas. Lynn moved back to Montana in 2004 and lived in Helena and Bozeman and continued her career as a nanny and hair stylist. But the ocean was always where she wanted to be so she moved back to California and settled in Carlsbad. She loved her salon, her nanny family, and the beach.
Lynn was dedicated to her work as a nanny and hair stylist. Children loved her and she loved caring for them. Her family called her the “kid whisperer”. As a hair stylist she was able to be creative. She met and made many great friends everywhere she went. She had a great connection and love for her friends and family. Her strong faith guided and comforted her throughout her life.
Lynn is survived by her parents Max and Dawn Hofeldt of Chinook, sister Renee (Jim) Lyman of Helena, brothers Levi (Tara) Hofeldt of Chinook, Max (Jessica) Hofeldt of Seattle, nephews Kinser Lyman, Ryder and Rhett Hofeldt, niece Jaci Lyman, and grandmother Avis Jamieson of Chinook. She is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Lynn was preceded in death by grandparents Don Jamieson and Roy and Helen Hofeldt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lynn’s name may be sent to St. Peter’s Health Foundation c/o Oncology Unit, 2475 Broadway, Helena, MT 59601.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home in Helena. Burial will take place in Chinook at a later date.
