Our beloved, Marcella June (Rogne) Adolph passed away peacefully in Helena on June 12, 2014, surrounded by loving family with whom she shared her 75 years of big, fun life. Her family is comforted knowing that she is with her loved ones who preceded her in death. A celebration of June’s life will be held at a later date when her family and friends can come together in honor and remembrance of this beautiful woman who will be dearly missed.
June began her life on a small farm in North Dakota, born to Robert and Marjorie (Underland) Rogne, accompanied by sister Billie Ann and brother Rick. Their family scratched out a meager life on the prairie, raising their own food and fun. June attended a small country schoolhouse until she went to work at a small café in Regent, North Dakota, where she met George Adolph from Selby, South Dakota. June and George married and traded their rural attire for an urban lifestyle, and their life’s journey took them from Nebraska, to Colorado, to Texas, as they raised their six children. In 1997, they moved to Helena to assist June’s mother in her final years. June’s life in Helena was typified by the care she gave to others in need, and trips to her “boutiques” looking for a good bargain or treasure.
June was a dedicated wife and mother who loved her family and took great pride in her home, always striving to create a comfortable living environment for those she loved. It was quite normal to hear her singing merrily while scrubbing floors and polishing woodwork. Her love of family and friends kept the door of her home open to anyone in need of a helping hand, a kind word, or a loving gesture. She glowed with light and love and was the main attraction everywhere she went. Her big smile and infectious laughter warmed the hearts of all who knew her, and her playful nature lent itself to the occasional prank she enjoyed playing on friends and family. Entertaining children is what she loved best. She instinctively knew what sparked the imagination of a child, and it was her joy in life to create magical worlds of fun and adventure for all those who were naturally drawn to her.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marjorie (Underland) Rogne, and survived by her siblings, Rick and Billie Ann Rogne [Helena], husband, George Adolph [Helena], six children, Janell (Adolph) Foley [Helena], Tamella (Adolph) Gunnells [Texas], George and Robert Adolph [Hawaii], Peggy Adolph and Allison (Adolph) Johnson [Florida], and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. June’s remembrance will shine brightly for generations to come. Mom, we love you and miss you already! Please visit below to offer the family a condolence or to share a memory of June.

We were so sorry to hear of June’s passing. She and I were childhood friends (and distant cousins). We had so many great memories from over the years … from playing together as children to double-dating in high school. Then before we knew it we were both married and raising our families. But even though there were miles between us and we didn’t see one another as often, we remained friends through it all.
To you, George and all the children and grandchildren, Rick and Billie Ann, we send our deepest sympathy. Your loss is our loss, too.
