BRONSON (Lucas), Peggy Lois
Peggy Lois (Lucas) Bronson, age 56, born November 5, 1956 to Richard and Ione Lucas of Danvers, Montana passed away on November 21, 2012 after a courageous two year battle with Amyloidosis, a rare disease.
Peggy grew up in the Danvers area and attended high school in Denton. After graduating in 1974, she moved to Helena with her best friend Connie (Krogedal) Carson. Shortly thereafter, she met her husband of 36 years, Gordon Bronson. Peggy worked for the State of Montana up until 2000 when they moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. There she worked at the Coeur d’Alene Press before moving back to Helena in 2009 to be closer to her grandchildren.
Peggy loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow. She even came out of retirement to work at the daycare her grandson attended. Peggy loved going to their cabin in Wolf Creek and watching the hummingbirds. She enjoyed the times she spent on the coast with her husband. She also cherished the numerous nights spent with her family in their newly remodeled home.
Peggy was at peace knowing that her journey was about to end and spent her last few weeks comforting her family and preparing them for her passing. During her final months she cherished every moment she had and her time with family and friends. She was an angel that will be missed by many.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ione Lucas, brother Ken Lucas, nephew Lynn Lucas and great nephews Dayne Heble and Cody Miller.
She is survived by her husband Gordon Bronson, son Travis (Kelsey) Bronson, daughter Jennifer (Shawn) Eblen, grandchildren Louis Grady, Mason, Ashlyn Eblen, and soon to be baby Bronson, all of Helena. Brothers Dick (Sharlene) Lucas of Townsend, Gary Lucas of Bozeman, Rob (Wanda) Lucas of Moccasin, Sister Karen (and the late Larry) Allen of Denton, sister-in-law Sharon Lucas of Great Falls, Rod Copenhaver, numerous close nieces and nephews, and lots of loving friends.
A memorial service celebrating Peggy’s life will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 27th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A reception will be held in the social center of the funeral home immediately following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations in honor of Peggy be made to the St. Patrick’s House, 501 W. Alder, Missoula, MT 59802.
