In Memory Of

Margaret “Maggie” Jane Williams age 81 of Helena

October 5, 1940 – September 8, 2022

Heaven gained a special angel on September 8, 2022.

Margaret (Maggie) Jane Williams was born on October 5, 1940, in Helena, MT to Lee Melvin Anderson and Leona Glocke and passed at St. Peters Hospital on September 8, 2022. She spent her early years in Helena, moving to the State Orphans Home in Twin Bridges at a young age. After leaving the orphanage at around 15, she returned to Helena where she graduated from Helena High in 1958. She spent the rest of her days in Helena, raising a family and enjoying her many hobbies and friends which included camping at Black Sandy, motorcycle trips to Idaho and Washington, white water rafting, participating in bowling leagues at Capital Bowl, crocheting/knitting, cribbage, horseback riding, riding her bicycle, and taking care of her many animals. She regularly purchased lottery tickets in the hopes of winning her fortune to share with all the people she loved.

Maggie married Bob Rushford and Don Williams which resulted in 6 children.

She held many jobs over the years, including the Highway Patrol, Rustic Inn, Hoffbrau, Econo-Wash, and Capital Music/Century Gaming. Each one, she worked with her full heart and greatly enjoyed her time spent at the New Life Lutheran Church and was so proud to have been baptized there in 2002.

Maggie was preceded in death by her children Dennis Rushford, Donna Dickson and Evie Scow, sister Ethel Stratton, and niece Shela Stratton.

Maggie is survived by her children Betty Rushford Williams, Chuck (Gwen) Williams, and Dale (Jennifer) Williams, sister Shirley McMurry, grandchildren Vias, Niena, and James Williams, Kaloni and Kiana Scow, Andrew and Cody Williams, honorary grandchildren Levi, Christopher, and Justine as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and the many friends she made over the years.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or purchase a lottery ticket in Maggie’s honor.

What a kind, generous, caring person who always had a smile. Maggie never missed sending any of us birthday or holiday cards. Her hard work, games of cribbage and most of all Maggie herself will be greatly missed.
