I surprisingly enough ran into Neil and Margy at the Painted Canyon rest stop June 2012, that was the last time I saw Margy. They were on their way here to Grand Forks and I was on my way to Medora. We could never have planned it even if we had wanted to. But I will never forget the look of surprise on Margy’s face as I waved and yelled her name. After a few minutes and the initial shock wore off, she got the words out and we had a nice visit (even Neil was surprised!!) We didn’t see each other that often, but the times we did were always filled with laughs and wine!! She taught me to make pasta, although mine never turned out as good as the batch she made. Margy was a fabulous lady and I would think it’s not quiet in heaven right now because she’s chatting it up with EVERYBODY!!

It was always a joy to see Margy, those wonderful hugs. She had trouble getting words out at times but always was able to tell us what was on her mind. Every time I saw her I always got a wonderful hug, I will miss those hugs and talks! The one comment I will remember is Neil’s, I am just the chauffer for Margy to all the DU events. Yes she was the first lady of DU and I know we all loved her and will miss her greatly! What a wonderful lady! We will always think and remember her.

There is now a brighter star in the heavens. The newest angel has an outgoing bubbly personality and a buoyant spirit with hugs freely available during her watch. Her eyes will light up the sky and her charm is sure to melt the hearts of all who meet her at God’s House. Margy once worked as my Legal Assistant in Colorado and has been a dear friend ever since. Her indomitable spirit has been an inspiration to all and I feel I am a better person for having known her. Thank you and rest in peace, dear Margy. Friends forever.

The first thing you noticed about Margy was her smile. She was an amazing lady and an example to all on how to enjoy every day and on how to persevere through challenges. I agree with Ernie, Margy never lost her ability to get her point and opinion across. I will always cherish the talks, the laughs, the hugs and the DU Hen Hunts we shared. She will always be Montana DU’s First Lady to me. God Bless.

Margy was a lady that all of us could look up to. We never saw her that she wasn’t smiling and happy and – when we turned to speak with Neil – he too beamed with friendliness and sincerity. Neil’s obvious love for margy was always on his face and in his eyes. Their love affair endured all boundaries that could have possibly been made for them to cross.
Margy and Neil overcame many challenges together; challenges that not many others could not have achieved. Both are heroes in our hearts and minds. God bless you both.
Katie and Paul Curtis says
Margay will remain lovingly in my heart forever. When my son, Kipp, moved to Helena to attend Carroll and play football, some of the first people he met were Margy and Neil. What a lucky day that was for him. They took him into their warm circle and gave him lots of love and support…a very wonderful gift for a young man so far from home. We had some wonderful times together and they just felt like family from the very beginning. I hope she knew how grateful to her we are and how much Kipp and his parents love her. We will love and miss Margy always.
