On Friday, May 5, Marlene Rose Olson departed her earthly life with family by her side. Marlene Rose Barnes was born on January 29, 1937 in Glasgow, Montana. Her parents were Burr and Mammie Barnes. She was raised on a farm in Wyota, Montana and attended school in Nashua. After graduation, she married the love of her life Charles Olson in April 1956. Marlene enjoyed camping with her family and fishing with her husband. She was an accomplished baker and cook and enjoyed caring for her lawn and flowers. She worked as a cashier at Gordon’s Foods in Glasgow for many years, and was most recently employed by Walmart, in Helena, until health complications forced her retirement.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, parents Burr and Mammie, sisters Donna Branch, Donnabelle Barnes and Neva Cook, brothers Delorne Barnes, Oran Barnes, Laurel Barnes, Max Barnes and Gail Barnes. She is survived by her sisters Betty O’Tremba, Audrey Kjensrud, sister-in-laws Karyl Barnes and Pat Barnes, children Terry Olson (Leslie), Mike Olson(Terri), Pam Hart (Brian) and Gayna Miros (Rob), grandchildren Challen Behan (Matt), Ashley Olson, Eric Olson, Tyler Hart, Collin Hart, Kurtis Miros, Becky Lang (Dylan), great grandchildren Parker Gillman, Jack Schafer, Ella Behan and Wesley Behan.

Sweet sweet lady. I have very fond childhood memories of going over to Marlene and Chuck’s and running wild with Pam and Gayna while the adults played cards. Love to you all.

I remember Marlene at Queen of Angels in Nashua. She was a real classy dresser and wore beautiful hats.
Eternal rest grant unto her O lord, and let perpetual light shine up on her.
