Mary Elizabeth Hanson, age 89 of Tumwater, WA passed away on January 27, 2011. She was born to Bess and William Price on July 18, 1921 in Billings, MT.
Mary attended country school near Laurel, MT. She rode to school on her favorite horse, Brownie. She attended and graduated from Laurel High School. Mary attended and received her Diploma of Nursing at St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in Billings, MT, now part of the University of Montana.
Mary worked as a Registered Nurse primarily in hospital settings. She was well-respected in her profession and loved her work. Mary worked the majority of her nursing career at the Mountain View Memorial Hospital in White Sulphur Springs. She also worked in Laurel, Missoula, Salinas, CA.
Mary was married to Marshall Hanson in White Sulphur Springs in 1960. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Mary had many favorite hobbies and activities including riding horses, dancing, quilting, volunteering at the Meagher Museum, gardening, and taking rides in the country. She enjoyed visiting with her many friends and loved playing pinochle.
She was a member of the Presbyterian and Lutheran Churches, Red Hat Ladies, and the WSS Senior Center.
A graveside service will be Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at Mayn Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs, MT.

I had not heard of Mary’s passing. I enjoyed working with her and knowing her. She was dedicated, and did so much for others. Bless all of you as you complete this chapter in her life. She was proud of her family.
