Mary Rita Cinker age 86, passed away early morning May 24, 2016 in Helena Montana.
She was born at home in Townsend, Montana, on January 6, 1930 to parents Wilfred and Stella Hazelton. She was raised in Helena and went to St. Helena Grade School and graduated from Helena High in 1948. She married Dale Price in 1948 and they had one son, Michael. They divorced in 1957.
She went to work for Mountain Bell in 1956 in the Accounting Department. When that department transferred to Salt Lake city she moved there and spent two years. On her return to Helena in 1963 she went to work in the Engineering Department at Mountain Bell retiring in 1983.
In 1979 Bob Cinker and Mary Rita married and they spent many enjoyable years camping. They made two separate trips to Alaska in the trailer. She also made several trips to visit her brother at the Mission in Guatemala. She also enjoyed gardening, reading a good book and working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her son, Michael Price; granddaughter Kathy Baxter (Dan); grandson James Price; great granddaughter Makayla; great grandson Jeremy Price (Danielle); great great grandson Parker; her brother Reverend James Hazelton and sister Dorothy Hazelton; nieces Kathy Quinn and Karen Alley.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Bob in 2014 and sister Eileen Quinn in 1990.
Mary Rita’s family would like to thank the wonderful health care providers at Shelby House and St. Peter’s Hospice for the care they provided during her last illness.
Viewing will be held from noon to the start of the vigil service at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 27th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28th at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 120 West Riggs Street in East Helena. A social gathering will follow the mass in the social hall at the church. Burial will take place following the reception at St. Ann’s Cemetery. We were sad to see that you have lost Mary Rita. I saw her recently at mass in East Helena and loved our brief visit. Many wonderful memories wash over me of Sunday mass at the cathedral and she and your mom sitting behind us and visits to your moms house when she would be there. We were blessed to know her. God rest her soul
