She was given life by wonderful parents Maurice and Thelma Dineen on August 25th, 1941 in Helena Montana. She was greeted by two older sisters, Mary Lou and Jen who were waiting anxiously to meet their baby sister.
Maureen, “Enie” as most knew her, grew up and went to school in Helena. Throughout those years she found passion in physically enduring sports such as water-skiing, and snow skiing, however her calling was in ballet with Blanche Judge at a young age. She continued to become a Prima Ballerina and was offered a position in the Royal Canadian Ballet just shortly before graduating in 1959 from Cathedral High School. Enie declined the offer because she did not want to give up her United States citizenship. Afterwards, her education continued as she pursued a degree in Physical Education at Montana State University in Bozeman.
She met and married Rollins Martin Fisher of Helena on December 28th, 1959. They began their life and future together, while attending MSU. They brought forth 3 children: Lauri Ann Fisher-Stoos (Todd Stoos) of Helena, William Todd Fisher (Barbara Anne Fisher) of Wickenburg, AZ and Lisa Maureen Fisher of Lincoln.
Enie became involved and served for multiple Clubs and Organizations which included: Camp Fire Girls, Cub Scouts, 4-H, West Side Little League, Great Falls Gymnastics, Costume Designer and Seamstress for Great Falls Figure Skating Club, CMR Wrangler Drill Team and many others. Through the years of community involvement and raising a family, she also had a love for animals and had many furry companions over the years. Later in life she was active in Helena Walk to Emmaus and served on the Board of Directors. She had a strong work ethic, with many talents and attributes, and a generous spirit for serving others.
In 1979 Rollie and Enie moved to Scottsdale, AZ. While living there and enjoying the new backyard pool, she found a love for working with infants in teaching them how to safely stay afloat and swim from a young age. A few years later the mountains called for them to return home to Montana.
Upon returning, she and Rollie purchased the Blackfoot Valley Dispatch in Lincoln, the perfect outlet to pursue a lifelong interest for News. Maureen became the owner/editor of the newspaper and print shop. After many years of enjoyment and service, the decision was made to retire and sell the Blackfoot Valley Dispatch. She then dedicated her time to her exquisite mountain home, and 4 beautiful grandchildren: Celena June Stoos, Shelton Rollins Snyder, Nikki Jean Snyder and Alex Christian Fisher.
A few years after Rollie’s passing in 2009, she sold the family home in Lincoln and moved to Helena. She enjoyed her little apartment and became good friends with her close neighbors. She decided to seek out a part-time job and became a checker at Lowes. She absolutely loved her job with her new work family. A Very Special Thank You to Eric and Nancy (Lowe’s management) for all the love and care in the last year of her life!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Thelma Dineen; sister, Mary Lou (Steven McCutcheon) and nephew and God son, Michael McCutcheon; sister, Jen (Don Gill); mother and father in-law Herb and Celena “Nikki” Fisher and the love of her life Rollie.
Her surviving nieces and nephews, Steven McCutcheon (Cindie), Erin Passarini (Mark) Lael McCutcheon (Jim), David McCutcheon, Shellie Tomacheck (Robert), John Gill (Robin) Joe Gill (Carolyn), Rick Latch, Tom Latch (Brenda); surviving cousin, Tim Barry, and extended grand nieces, nephews, cousins, and families.
Maureen passed with peace, on the evening of July 25th, 2023, one month to the day of her 82nd birthday. She was surrounded by family members, many phone calls with speakers on for memories, songs, goodbyes and love to be shared.
May the Lord hold you softly by his side until we meet again,
We will miss you!
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, August 30th, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Saint Helena Cathedral. A reception will immediately follow in the Brondel Center located in the lower level of the Cathedral. Interment of Enie’s cremated remains will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later time.
Memorials in Enie’s name are requested to the Lewis & Clark Humane Society P.O. Box 4455 Helena, Montana 59604.

So sorry to hear of Enie’s passing. Her smile always lit up the dimmest room. She was the kindest to everyone she met, and everyone was her friend. I regret that after I retired from FedEx, I didn’t keep in better contact.
