Meredith King, 67, of Helena, suddenly passed away in her home on November 24th, 2011.
Meredith was born to Marion Josephine Hennessy and Adam James Wilhelm on February 29th, 1944 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Meredith spent most of her career in Food Service which included waitressing, cocktailing, bartending and cooking. One of Meredith’s proudest moments was when she opened the doors to Jam’s Café, which she owned and operated until her retirement.
She loved serving the public more than anything and would have had it no other way. Meredith thrived putting a smile on each customers face and would go to great extent in order to accomplish this.
Meredith loved camping, boating, gardening, arts & crafts, cooking, thrift store shopping, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grand-children regardless of what it was they were doing.
Meredith was a very loving, caring, giving and supportive mother, nana, sister, wife and friend. She was the type of person who would give her last nickel to anyone in need. She will be greatly missed by the many people whose paths she had crossed.
She was without a doubt our Spice of Life! There is no chance on God’s green earth we could have ever asked for a better mother.
Meredith is survived by her husband James; her daughters Shannon Stevens, Tabitha Smith and Robin Lock; sons Adam McGowan and Roger Keech, all of Helena; sister’s Wendy Wilhelm and Vickie DeVoy of Westwood Massachusetts; and grandchildren Kris McGowan, Sheridan and Shaylee Smith, Kaitlyn and Tyson McGowan, Ethan Wark, R.J. and Khloe Keech and Kaden Peters.
Cremation will take place at Meredith’s request. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 North Montana Avenue. A reception will follow in the social hall of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.aswfuneralhome.com

We are so sorry to hear about Merry and for the hole her death must have created in your lives. Although my sisters and I have only met Merry a handful of times we felt as though we knew her well from the stories we grew up hearing about the many adventures of Merry and our mother, Judy. We know she will be sadly missed.
