On the evening of Sept. 14, 2014, Mickey passed away due to cancer at St. Peters Hospital in Helena, MT, while being comforted by her family. She was 66 years old.
Mickey was born to Thomas A. Mane and LaVonne M. Denny (Heck) in Lewistown, Montana on Jan. 28, 1948.
Mickey grew up in Lewistown and Great Falls and was among the first graduating class of C.M. Russell High School.
She had her first son, Greg, and her daughter Michelle from her first marriage.
She met Dwain, her husband and love of her life, at the French Town Pond in 1975. They were married on Sept. 20, 1976 and lived in Victor, where she worked for the University of Montana and had her daughter Erinn. They moved to Santa Rita, Montana a year later, where they lived for 10 years. There Mickey worked as a bookkeeper at the Glacier County Courthouse, and later worked for Glacier Electric.
Mickey and Dwain moved to Helena in 1990 where she worked as an accountant at Ghost Art Gallery. In 1992 she began her real estate career and became a broker, from which she took great satisfaction helping people find their homes.
She enjoyed her last two years in retirement spending her time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her time with her six grandchildren.
She loved Montana’s beautiful outdoors, and enjoyed hiking, skiing (all kinds), and “camping at fine hotels.” She was an active runner, and ran her first half-marathon at the age of 60, inspiring her friends and family.
Mickey will be remembered as a person who always had a great love for life. When told, “I love you,” she would respond “I love you more.” She could always find the positive side in others. She brought a calm and sunny spirit in good times and bad.
Mickey was preceded in death by her mother LaVonne, brother, Ron (Ronnie) Mane, and an infant son Greg.
She is survived by her husband Dwain; daughters Michelle Gorman (Rodney) and Erinn Jorgensen (Marc); step-son Jon Lowry (Tana); grandchildren Scott, Travis, Jordyn, Drew, Emma and Wilson; father Thomas A. Mane and step-mother Polly Mane; sisters Diane Brosseau, Kris Clark and Carol Grubbs; brothers Steve Dalton, David Dalton, Jon Dalton, and Gary Mane, as well as her sister-in- laws, brother-in-laws and many nieces and nephews, all who were dear to her heart.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home on 3750 N. Montana Ave. A funeral Mass will be held at Saint Mary Catholic Community, 1700 Missoula Ave, Helena on Thursday, September 18 at 9:30 a.m. with burial immediately following at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Harrison and a reception afterward in the social center at Saint Mary Catholic Community.

Duane & Erinn,
My heart just aches for you guys. Mickey was a wonderful, happy go lucky gal that always had a smile and something nice or funny to say. I have great memories of her while I was growing up. I know how hard it must be to lose her so unexpectedly, but know she will always be there with a thought, or a prayer- to guide you and be with you. I hope you, Mark and the kiddos know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love you

We were so sad to hear of Mickey’s passing. She was such a special person and meant so much to us. We met her as our realtor and she immediately became our friend. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. We are currently in OR so will not be able to attend the service, but you can be assured that you will be in our hearts.
With Love, Jim & Carol
Vicki (Mendenhall) Vander Ven says
When I was 10 years old my older sister and I came to Lewistown for the first time to visit my dad and his new family for the summer and that is when I met Mickey, I can’t begin to tell you how much fun we had over the next few summers until her family moved away and unfortunately we lost touch with each other. We would play with our paper dolls all day long upstairs in her bedroom and try to spend the night with each as often as possible. I’ve always remembered Mickey and everytime I drive past our old houses on Washington Street I can still see her, her little brothers, her mom and dad. I was so sad to see her obituary in the paper today, I always wondered about her and I’m so sorry for your loss, I still remember how very special she was. Sincerely, Vicki Vander Ven

Mark, Erinn, Emma and Wilson-
We were so saddened to hear about your Mom’s illness and passing. Carey and Rick always spoke so highly of her-we regret not having the opportunity to meet her. We’re happy she was able to live around her grand children and enjoy them. Hopefully happy memories will comfort you during this sad time in your lives. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dwain and Erinn, I am sorry for your loss. Mickey was so kind and patient with me when I was house hunting. Being a single parent my budget was not much but she helped me find just the right home for me and my kids.
You all are in my prayers and ask that Lord comfort you during this difficult time.
