Myrtle Mae Robinson (Lewis), 84, of Helena, Montana, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, following a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Myrtle was born on June 23, 1941, in Elma, Washington, to Alvin and Phoebe Lewis. The oldest of five children, she was a caring and devoted sister to her three beloved sisters and one brother. While living in Oregon in the 1960s, she felt drawn to Montana, a place that would soon capture her heart and lead her to the love of her life, Keith Robinson. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and the natural beauty of the place they called home.
While Myrtle wasn’t the first to grab a fishing pole, her deep love for Keith often led her to Dog Creek, his favorite fishing hole, just to be near him. She even braved Montana’s cold winters to join him on the ice for fishing trips, always by his side. Afterward, she would lovingly can the salmon he caught, stocking the pantry with jars that would nourish and remind them of those days for years to come.
Myrtle had a deep love for the outdoors and spent many joyful hours walking the trails behind her house with Keith and anyone she could talk into joining her. She tended a thriving garden for many years and could be found in the fall canning and freezing its bounty. She especially loved huckleberry picking and was known for her famous huckleberry pie.
Her home was always open, and her Sunday suppers became a cherished tradition. Family, friends, and even strangers found warmth, comfort, and good food at her table. Rarely did a Sunday pass without people gathered in her dining room.
Above all, Myrtle’s greatest joy, and now her eternal joy, was her walk with God. Her faith carried her through every season of life, and even in illness, her strength and spirit remained an inspiration to those around her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Keith Robinson of Helena, Montana; children Larry (Nancy) Robinson, Steve Robinson, Crystal (John) Lynch, and Darcie (John) Carr; three sisters; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Phoebe Lewis; her brother, James Lewis; and grandson, Monte Robinson.
Myrtle’s legacy of love, faith, and hospitality lives on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
The family welcomes all who knew and loved Myrtle to join them for a time of remembrance and light refreshments on Sunday, August 10, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the family home, 4019 Lombardy Drive, Helena, Montana, honoring the Sunday fellowship she so generously shared throughout her life. Myrtle will be laid to rest at a later date.

Myrtle was my oldest sister. Even tho 13 years separated us i have such wonderful memories of her kind heart. Spending summers with her and Keith (who taught me how to fish) to trips to Yellowstone. She visited me in California where we got to go to Knotts Berry Farm she had such fun. She never judged my craziness but was always interested in how I was doing. I will surely miss her.
