Nancy V. Hepburn, 80, passed away peacefully in her sleep to join her husband in heaven to have their first dance that they have patiently waited for on January 15, 2017. Nancy was born in Glasgow, MT on September 19, 1936 to Howard V. Tripp and Kathrine V. Price-Tripp. She attended and graduated from Belt Valley High School in 1956. Upon graduation she married Richard E. Martin and had 4 children.
Nancy was an avid reader and a lifetime member of Eastern Star where she met Master Mason Charles R. Hepburn. They married in 1973 in Great Falls, MT. They moved to Gardiner, MT shortly after and spent many happy years in the Yellowstone Valley. She enjoyed shopping and spoiling her grandkids. Nancy and Charles moved to Helena, MT to be close to her family in 1996.
Nancy is proceeded in death by her parents, Kathrine and Howard, her husband, Charles R. Hepburn, and two brothers, Robert Tripp and Gordon Tripp. She is survived by her brother: Thomas R. Tripp, her children: Karolee Weickum (Gus) Helena, Kayann Stone (Dennis) Juneau, AK, Ronald A. Martin (Patty) Albuquerque, NM, and Richard E. Martin, Helena, 8 grandchildren: Ricki, Megan, Willie, Chase, Kelsey, Brandon, Rachael, and Patrick, and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
We want to extend a special thanks to hospice and the most compassionate and loving nurses and staff at the Shelby House and to Miss Shelby herself. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, January, 20th at 2:00 p.m. at the Retz Funeral Home with a reception to immediately follow at the VFW in East Helena. We are so very sorry for your loss. Nancy was a bright spot at Shelby House when my mom was there – we loved her stories and her wonderful sense of humor and her love of bright clothes and John Wayne!!! She will always be a happy memory for me and I will miss her so.
