Nelda A. Cook

Nelda Cook went to be with the Lord on December 1^st, 2017. The Lord took her suddenly from this world.

Nelda was born in Albion, NE. in 1930 to Arnum and Elsie Hinze. She went to a one-room school house that went from 1^st grade to 8^th. For high school she lived in town with a family and came home on the weekends, holidays and during the summer to work on the farm her parents owned. After graduating from Albion High in 1948 she went to California to live with 2 aunts and worked at Kodac Company as a secretary. While there, she met a wonderful Navy man (with a beautiful smile) and for the next three years they wrote to each and drew closer together. They were married September 5^th, 1955 and nine months later they had their only child, Cherrie. Two years later they were stationed in Italy for three years, then back to Norfolk, VA., where Ralph retired in 1971. They moved to Helena, MT. and lived there until the lord took them. They had a wonderful 60 years together.

Nelda loved her grandchildren and would pray for them each day for guidance and to walk closer to the Lord. She would also pray each day for Cherrie and her husband for wisdom and spiritual growth. Nelda was a quiet person, but she would also speak her mind.

We will miss you very much, but we had you for Thanksgiving. Now it is dad’s turn to be with you for Christmas. We love you.

A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 6^th from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 7^th at Helena Alliance Church, 1400 Stuart Street. A committal service will immediately follow at Montana State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Harrison. A reception will follow the burial in the social hall of the Church. Please see below to offer a condolence to the family or to share a memory of Nelda.
