Nick Holm Anderson, 75, joined his beloved Darleen in heaven on October 19, 2011.
Nick was born March 31, 1936 in East Helena, Montana to Helmer and Selma Anderson. On August 2, 1959, Nick married his soul mate, Darleen Clausen, in Helena. Together, they were wonderful parents to their children, Pamla and Steven. Darleen preceded him in death in 2009 after close to 50 years of marriage.
Nick was employed as a baker at Eddy’s Bakery for many years in the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. He also worked for a number of years at Clausen Distributing. In 1980, Nick began working for the Montana Department of Justice, Drivers’ License Bureau, as a supervisor in the medical records division. He retired from the State in 1997.
Nick was devoted to his family, and enjoyed bowling and camping in his younger years. He was an avid fan of western movies, in particular those starring John Wayne.
Nick is survived by daughter, Pamla (Dan) Murphy of Valdez, AK; son, Steven (Teresa) Anderson of East Helena; brother, Howard Anderson of Helena; grandchildren, Jasyn Murphy of Harvest, AL, Tessa Anderson of East Helena, David (Sarah) Murphy of Munford, TN, Rebecca Thompson of Anchorage, AK, and Tracy Bakker of Barsalem, PA; great-grandchildren, Kaiya Anderson, Avalynne Murphy and Shaelynn Nichole Anderson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife, Darleen, and parent, he was preceded in death by brothers, Andrew and Ted Anderson, and sisters, Judith Hames, Borgald Stansberry, and Sonya Anderson Distad.
Nick will be dearly missed! Love you Dad!
A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 24th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home with a burial service to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials in Nick’s name are suggested to an organization of the donor’s choice. Please join the family and friends for a reception at the American Legion, 3095 Villard Ave. in Helena immediately following the graveside service. I am going to miss Uncle Nicky and Aunt Darlene. I believe they are together now and happy again. They were so devoted to each other. I will miss them both.
