Orpha Mae Brewer (Keiffer)
On April 13, our mom decided to take a new adventure. As was customary with her, once she got it in her head, that was the way it was going to be. This time, however, she didn’t tell us all what she was up to.
Orpha was born December 12th 1938 as the only child to Albert and Margaret Keiffer. She was born and raised in Helena and attended Helena High School. She worked several jobs until she met the man of her dreams Frank Brewer, whom she married in 1958.
With the birth of her first child Albert, Orpha began a new adventure as a stay at home mother, where she raised 6 children of her own, and was “mom” to many more. Once all the kids were in school, Orpha went to work for the Department of Revenue, then Department of Labor and Industry where she made many friends she would cherish long after retirement.
Orpha loved chatting with friends and relatives, or just giving people a “hard time”. She loved bowling on local leagues and for many years drug her mother and best friend Bonnie Vincent along. Later she could be found at Rodeo’s and football games cheering on her family, traveling to visit friends, and camping in Lincoln over the 4th of July.
Orpha joined her parents, Frank, and best friend Bonnie in her new adventure. Feeling blessed to have been a part of her life, but missing her today are her children; Al (Kris) Brewer, Wes (Teresa) Brewer, Will (Janice) Brewer of Kalispell, Walt (Heather) Brewer, Ben Brewer of Kalispell, Juanita (Russ) Kelley, and Mark Johnson: Grand-children; Keelin, Taton, Kegan, Brendon, Cody, Hunter, Jade, Coleton, Crystal and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebrating her life is being planned for early summer.

My heart is aching, met Orpha in 2008 and were friends since. She was always there if you needed to talk to someone. She always talked about her children and how proud she was of each of them. She was a straight shooter, didn’t mess around with game-playing with people. I will miss her, i will always remember her!

I am so sorry to hear about Orpha. I was married to her best friend, Bonnie’s son. I knew her for 40 years. Your mom was one of a kind. When God made her he broke the mold. She was definitely a peach! She was always there for anyone that needed her. I will miss her greatly, as I’m sure a lot of people will. I see that the service won’t be until later. I am leaving town the first part of May and I wish I could attend but I won’t be here. I just wanted all of you to know that you are in my prayers.
