Patricia Ann was born on June 17, 1949 in Los Angles California as the first child in our household. Her earl days were spent with us in Alhambra, California then at 1819 New Jersey Street in Los Angeles. Pat continued her education by attending Loma Linda Academy. She evidenced an aptitude for music and learned to play the piano. It was early noticed that she had “perfect pitch” and could easily identify notes struck on the piano. In the summer if 1959 she climbed Mt. Whitney with her parents and her younger brother.
A major change occurred in our family in October of 1960 when we were called to mission work in Thailand. It was interesting that the then Pastor of the Loma Linda College Church, Charles Teel Sr., remarked to Patty before we left that she should return some day and play the organ in the new church.
During the years in Thailand Pat acquired proficiency in the Thai language to the extent that she was able to answer the phone and the hospital switchboard, and many callers probably didn’t know that they were speaking to an American. Patty also played the small organ for church services. Patty continued her education at the Compound school, then Ekamai International School and received her high school diploma from Loma Linda Academy.
While in Thailand Patty was visited by Ron Lee who was serving with the Army. Ron and Pat were later married and to this union were born two daughters, Gwendolyn Marie and Melanie. Ron and Pat were later divorced and Pat continued to raise her daughters as a single mother. She was employed by the medical record department of Loma Linda University Medical center for approximately 21 years.
On June 30, 1990 Pat was married to Basil Hearen in an outdoor ceremony at Forest Falls. She continued to work for LLUMC unitl October of 1997 when they moved to Montana originally with a “fifth wheeler”. Pat soon found employment with Mountain Pacific and worked there for about seven years until health problems made it impossible for her to continue. Our dear girl passed to her rest early in the morning of May 28, 2013 with her husband at her bedside.
The loving family members who remain and will miss her so long as we live include her husband, Basil Hearen, her parents George and Jeanne Wiesseman, her brother Garold Wiesseman, her daughters Gwendolyn (Dennis) Fairbanks and Melanie Lee, six grandchildren, Shawn and Celia Willis and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29 at 4p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Helena 2nd Ward, 1260 Otter Road, Helena, Montana.

How we love her, we plan to meet her on Resurrection Morning at the Tree of Life. The next thing Patty will know is when Jesus awakes her and invites her to everlasting life.

Pat will be missed. I met her and Basil when I moved to Helena in 1999. She was such a great friend. She even allowed Jordan and I to watch her cats when she would be gone. That is not a job she would not take lightly. Pat loved her cats. Rest dear friend.

While searching for one of my closest friends in high school (Melanie), sadly, I came across this. I’m so sorry for your loss. I will always remember the many days and nights spent at Melanie’s house or family events with Pat, Basil, Gwen, Jeff. I think Pat was my 2nd mother at times. She will be missed dearly. If the family gets this, please pass my email on to Melanie. I would love to reconnect and share my many fond memories with her.
