On July 27, 2023, Patrick Henry Dwyer went to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior. Patrick was a beloved father, husband, son, brother, friend, logger, and service member.
Patrick Dwyer was born on December 10, 1933 in the small down of Alma Center, Wisconsin. He grew up there hunting, fishing, and exploring the woods with his friends and sisters. As he grew up, he worked picking berries on his Grandparent’s farm with his mom (Esther Dwyer) and sisters (Angela and Mary) and cutting pulpwood with his dad (Vincent Dwyer). Pat was an outdoorsman and athlete, excelling at hunting deer and squirrels but also pitching for the Alma Center baseball team. With his immense love of the outdoors, he ventured to Montana at the end of his junior year in high school to work for the MT Forest Service in a program to eradicate gooseberries and currants that were spreading diseases to pine trees. It was this summer that he fell in love with the mountains and beauty of Montana.
After high school, Pat enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He honorably served as an Air Force cook on a carrier where he sustained airmen, pilots, and mechanics for over 11 months. When he was discharged, he rode his Harley Davidson motorcycle back to Montana where he would call home for the rest of his life. He settled in Townsend, where he stayed for over 20 years before moving to the Helena Valley. Pat was engaged in logging and sawmilling throughout his career. Pat was noted to be an exceptionally hard worker, whether he was logging, gardening, hunting, or fishing and he enjoyed mentoring countless young men over his career.
In 1989 Pat married Dioscora and brought her to the United States from the Philippines to begin their lives together in Montana. In 1991 they welcomed their first daughter, Angela Mae Dwyer and less than a year later in 1992, Marynell Esther Dwyer. Pat enjoyed spending time with his family playing cards, hunting, fishing, and doing the Helena Farmer’s Market. He especially loved hunting elk and bird hunting with his Chesapeake Bay Retrievers with friends and family.
Into his later years, Pat maintained a sharp mind and was well known for his stories where you could taste, hear, and see just has he did through his vivid storytelling ability. Pat continued his hobbies of hunting, fishing, and gardening into his late seventies and spent his last several years of his life guiding and mentoring others on his tricks of the trade to continue carrying on his legacy.
Pat passed peacefully with Family around him at the Fort Harrison, MT VA Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Esther Dwyer; his sisters, Angela Sanderson and Mary Curtain; and his daughter, Angela Dwyer (passed 2008).
Pat is survived by his wife, Dioscora (Loga) Dwyer; his daughter, Marynell. He leaves behind one brother: Joseph Dwyer (wife Sharan) and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Mary Ellen Schnur says
Pat exemplified the adage “Anything worth doing is worth doing well.” Not only did he work exceptionally hard, but he did a super job, at everything, be it work or play. Production and perfection were his bywords. He quietly did much to aid his parishes and to help people who needed a little lift. He was a good friend to me, as well as a member of our extended family.
Joe Visser says
