Pablo “Paul” Galindo Sanchez went home to Heaven on Friday night, December 28, 2012. His passing occurred in St. Peter’s Hospital, after a battle with liver cancer. He was 56 years old. He was surrounded by loved ones and died very peacefully.
Paul was born in Hardin, Montana, on August 31, 1956, to Lazaro Sanchez and Gabriela Galindo. He was born with his fraternal twin brother Pete. They were the seventh and eighth children, having six older sisters.
Paul was an outgoing, hard-working, loving and lovable man. He grew up in Billings, Montana, where he got into much trouble and mischief. He eventually moved to Helena, Montana with his then wife Wanda and their two children, Amber and Justin. He sobered up and became an active and amazing member of Alcoholics Anonymous, affecting countless people. Using His servant Paul, God saved many lives.
Paul’s favorite activities included serving God in A.A., hiking Mt. Helena, working out at Crossroads Fitness Club, and spending time with family and friends. In July 2009, he met Helen Giltner Morrison and six months later they were married. They were very much in love and their life together was cut short.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Pete Sanchez, Sara Rivera, Maria Valdera, Lupe Sanchez; and his nephew Lazaro Sanchez.
Paul is survived by his wife Helen Sanchez, children Amber Pronteau and Justin Belgarde; sisters Fidela Mijares, Jane Williams, Adela Nanez; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Kaidan Belgarde, Marlee Belgarde, Kyren Ogeda, Aydin James Pronteau, and James Michael Cleland.

I was so sad to read about Paul Sanchez’s passing. He was such a delight to talk with, almost daily when I lived in Helena, mainly seeing each other in the weight room at Crossroads. He often spoke of his many hikes up Mount Helena Park, no matter the weather. I always admired that energy. Although I didn’t get a chance to know Mr. Sanchez outside of our Crossroads encounters it was clear that he was a gift to his family and friends. God Bless.

Uncle Paul has been such an wonderful inspiration to our family. Through his example, we all know that we can overcome obstacles, we can touch the lives of others with our kind words and good deeds and we can do very hard things if we set our minds to it, and work at it every day. His personality and real concern for his family made it easy to talk to him.
We love you and will miss you like crazy,
Rest in peace.
With all our love,
Bob and Shannon Sanchez
