Pearl I. Olden, 82, passed away early Saturday morning, June 27.
Pearl was born March 25, 1933, to Leno M. and Minnie G. Finkbeiner. She grew up in Grass Range, MT, graduating from Grass Range High School in 1952. She met the love of her life, Donald A. Olden, and they were married on April 12, 1958 in Lewistown, MT. They made many happy memories together, and made their home in the Helena valley where they raised two children.
Pearl was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed. She was also a foster mother to a number of children before going to work outside the home. She enjoyed the time she spent with family, friends and animal companions. She worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana for 17 years, and helped with the family’s small haying operation. After retiring in July 1994, she enjoyed her time being a housewife, cooking, reading, going on bus tours, playing cards and walking in the mall with friends. She was a devoted Helena Bighorns Hockey fan for many years, and looked forward to working at the Helena Montana Kennel Club dog shows and agility trials. She also could be found at an occasional sprint car race.
Pearl was loved by everyone that she met. She lived a full and happy life surrounded by family, friends and grand-dogs. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, the American Legion and a long- time member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church.
Pearl is survived by her son, Douglas and Rene Olden of Belgrade, MT, and her daughter, Barbara and Robby Delaney of Helena, MT; granddaughters, Brittany Olden and Cassidy and CJ Berberet of Belgrade, MT; brothers Robert and Sandy Finkbeiner, Roy Finkbeiner and Russell and Bev Finkbeiner, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

We’re all so sorry to hear of Pearl’s passing. Randy and Doug were buddies in school, and our families did lots of camping together. Square dancing too brings back many fond memories. Our sincere sympathies to Doug, Barb and families.

Our family will offer prayers for Pearl and for your family. During the years I worked with Pearl at Blue Cross Blue Shield, she was always so positive and caring. She always had a kind word or observation to offer, and was a joy to be around. May God hold her gently now, and grant her a peaceful rest.
