In Memory Of

Ramon C. Crocker

May 29, 1934 – May 12, 2012

Ramon C. Crocker lost his seven year battle with melanoma on May 12, 2012.

He was born May 29, 1934 in Havre, MT to Sidney and Nellie Kleinjan Crocker.

He attended school in Havre until joining the U.S. Navy in 1952. Two years of his four year Navy career was spent in Honolulu, Hawaii. He shipped his Harley Davidson motorcycle over there and enjoyed riding with guys that are still his best friends today.

Ramon attended the Remington Factory Typewriter School in Elmira, NY and upon completion he returned to Helena to work for Helena Office Equipment for 19 years. In 1990 he started his own business known as Typewriter Repair Service. He enjoyed his line of work very much as well as his contact with his many loyal customers.

On September 14, 1963 Ramon married Rose Mary Hader in Havre, MT and in October they moved to Helena and spent their 48 plus years of marriage here. They loved to RV, Cruise and travel to many other places.

Ramon was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie and Sidney Crocker and a brother, Thomas Crocker and his wife, Doris. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rose Mary of Helena. He is also survived by his sister, Juanita Calvert of Vancouver, WA and his brother, Vernon Crocker and his wife Karan also of Vancouver, WA. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.

At Ramon’s request cremation has taken place and burial with a memorial service will take place at the Fort Harrison Cemetery at a date to be announced later when family and friends can attend.

A special thank you to Dr. Thomas Weiner and the great nurses at the Cancer Treatment center as well as the great care Ramon received at home from St. Peter’s Hospice the last few months of his life.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 17 at Montana State Veteran’s Cemetery at Ft. Harrison. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter’s Cancer Treatment Center or Hospice of St. Peter’s both at 2475 Broadway, Helena, MT.

Thank you Rosie for keeping us up to date with your life and health problems over the years since our meeting on a cruise so long ago.

It’s too bad we live so far apart but we do remember our weekend together at Levenworth and stopping at your place for a visit on our return trip from Ontario to British Columbia. It was always fun to be together.

We understand how difficult living with cancer is and how much it hurts to see someone you love in so much pain. Ray was always so strong.

We are so aorry for your loss.

Ramon was “one of the good guys”, I never even heard of him being in trouble or giving anyone any trouble in Honolulu, where he was a friend of mine as well as of my parents. I’ve never met you Rosie, but wanted you to know that your loss is a loss to all who knew Ramon.

Rosie, We are so sorry for your loss of this wonderful man in your life. You and Ray were so very close and your love for each other was so obvious to all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, we pray that you feel God’s loving arms around you during this time.

I’ll always remember when I was a little girl, we were at grandma and grandpa Hader’s home and you and Ray came to visit. I think it was the first time I remember meeting him. Anyway, he was goofing around with us kids and he started whinnied like a horse, he sounded just like a horse! It was so funny! I laughed so hard and I still do when I think of it . . . I will never forget that time and I will never forget Ray and the great person he was. We love you, Rosie.

    Dear Rose Mary ~

I am so sorry to hear of Ray’s passing. He was such a nice man, very kind and always had a good sense of humor.

Ray did a fantastic job keeping all your IBM typewriters “tuned up” and in good working order.

Ray will be missed by my friends and family! May he rest in peace. It was always good to see you and sharing the same last name, even though we weren’t related.

Prayers and thoughts are with you.

    May God Bless,
    Pam Crocker-Brown
