Ramona Ann Townsend age 67, of Helena passed away from COPD January 24, 2025, in Helena. Ramona was born in Tacoma, Washington June 28, 1957, first born to Carol (Martin) and Gerald Townsend.
She received her education and graduated from Thorton High School in Daly City, California. Ramona married Bill Duffy in Paradise Valley Montana in an airplane in 1977. Bill and Ramona later divorced.
She enjoyed fishing, reading a good book, writing poetry, spending time with her granddaughter, listening to music and gardening.
Ramona worked for the Cooney Convalescent home from 2002 to 2004 and then worked as a survey specialist with the National Agricultural Statistics Service from 2005-2013 in Helena
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Sheryl Townsend. She is survived by her son, Jared Duffy born February 9, 1987, daughter Corina Rocco, born August 5, 1979 and daughter Katie Fisch born October 28, 1988, brothers, Dale Townsend and Clifford Swanson; sister, Pamela Wotschell; grandchild, Ava Doom and partner of 18 years, Chris Owens.
