Reva Lyne Tucker
May 9, 1958 – October 4, 2025
Reva Lyne (Tucker) McSweeney, 67, passed away on October 4, 2025, suddenly and with minimal suffering. A lifelong Montanan, Reva was born in Great Falls and spent her early childhood on a family farm in Ulm. Even in difficult times, her mother ensured that Reva and her sister were celebrated each year with a single rose on their birthdays—a gesture Reva never forgot.
Reva graduated from Cascade High School, where she famously set a school record “that will never be beaten” in track and field in the hurdling event due to a scoring system change the following year. After high school, she chose to forgo college and began a long, dedicated career at Blue Cross Blue Shield—starting before the cross and the shield even merged. In her final years at BCBS, after 47 years of service, she was honored with the Big Sky Brilliance Award. However, in her typical humble fashion, she simply said, “I was just doing my job.”
Reva married Dennis McSweeney, her cousin’s lifelong best friend and, in her words, a “troublemaker.” Together, they shared over 30 years of marriage rooted in commitment, love, and laughter. They raised two sons, Sean (33) and Connor (31), whom Reva cherished deeply.
She was an animal lover, a nature documentary enthusiast, and a woman of humor, strength, and heart. Reva was a big sister to her brother Todd and a “big pain” (affectionately, of course) to her older sister, Kivonne. She often reminisced about their childhood home, where the neighborhood kids flocked—even if all they had to offer was powdered milk and popcorn, except at Christmas, when their mother “Mitz” made homemade hot chocolate for everyone.
Reva spoke often to her sons about the intention behind having two children. She believed that life was too immense to face alone, and wanted her children to always have each other—even when she and Dennis were gone. That belief in connection and care carried into every part of her life. After Dennis’ passing, she often spoke of the quiet, daily strength she found in the support of coworkers and familiar voices during the pandemic years.
Reva is survived by her sister Kivonne Tucker (Sandy Schnider), her brother Todd Tucker (Janice Tucker), her beloved sons, Sean and Connor McSweeney, and soon-to-be Daughter-in-law Whitney Brothers (the daughter she never knew she needed), her favorite roommate, a dachshund named Ziva, and her fur-grandbabies (Tucker and Maggie-Magoo, respectively). She is deeply missed by extended family, friends, coworkers, and all who were lucky enough to share space in her world.
A memorial service to celebrate her life is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 1st, 2025 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home located at 3750 N. Montana Avenue Helena, Montana. A reception for family and friends will follow in the social center of the funeral home. Her burial service will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Fort Benton, Montana.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to show their condolences to consider donating to Grandstreet Theatre or Lewis & Clark Humane Society—two places that reflect Reva’s lifelong love of storytelling and animals.

Sean and Connor!
Ahh, your mom was absolutely the epitome of loving huge at the maximum volume. Not a cookie cutter woman in any manner, there is not a single memory of her that does not fill my soul completely while bringing a spontaneous giggle. Genuine in everything she did and gave, she set the standard for being authentically and unapologetically who she was. To say I admired, respected and loved her is an understatement. She made clear how much she cherished her boys! Thank you for sharing her with us!

Reva was a very special lady, her smile and laughter were very contagious. She spoke what on her mind and I loved that about her, simply as you always knew where you stood. She had a beautiful heat and soul. Fly high my beautiful friend. Much love.

Dear Sean and Connor: You don’t know me, or few of your Mom’s former basketball and track teammates at Cascade High School. But Reva was the ultimate fun teammate who was always hustling on defense and making us laugh. She had a lightness about her that I remember, even when we were in grade school together at Ulm Grade School (Blue Hawks). It breaks my heart that we’ve lost our Reva — your Reva. Please know that we are thinking about you. Love, Renata Birkenbuel

Sean and Connor, I was so shocked to see the announcement your mom had died. My huge condolences to both of you. The sound of her voice rings clearly in my mind. We shared some common stories the last few years, and of course had years in common raising our boys on Clarke Street and at Hawthorne. Your dad’s voice rings clearly in my mind as well. My heart goes out to you both. Take care of each other and those doggies. ❤️

Reva grew up across the alley from us along with Todd, Kivonne. Mitzi was a delight and it was Ted that taught fatherless me how to tie a tie for my 8th grade graduation.. We were good neighbours in the best sense. We saw each other daily and I will never forget her as she and my sister Gina were in the same grade at Cascade. I write on behalf of my sisters, Gina, Stacy, and myself. We were all good friends and I am so sorry for you boys. Your mom was a special part of our childhood and high school years. Our sincere sympathy to all of you for your loss. Rest in peace, dear Reva!

I had the privilege of working closely with Reva for about five years at BCBS, and in that time, I came to know one of the most kindhearted and selfless people I’ve ever met. Reva had this genuine desire to help anyone in any way she could—no task was ever too big or too small. She would always say, “Just let me know how I can help,” and she truly meant it every single time. On tough days, Reva had this incredible ability to lift your spirits within seconds—with her warmth, her humor, and that unforgettable laugh. She spoke with such pride and love when talking about her boys. Reva was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed. It was both a blessing and an honor to know her and have her in my life. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
