I always enjoyed Rich as a colleague and friend at the University of Great Falls. He had a sparkle in his eyes and abundant healthy curiosity about other places and people in the world. He supported ‘other thinkers’ to explore math in their own ways and to show their learnings in visual as well as mathematical and verbal methods and avenues of expression. I had art students who struggled significantly with mathematics their entire life; Rich showed them a way to understand through visual teaching and even allowed one especially challenged student to complete a series of paintings demonstrating the theories that he DID understand, just in his own unique way. Thank you, Rich. Your eyes, heart, and mind, are still sparkling for us. Much love to his best beloveds and extended family and friends. Thank you for being there for him.
