Snowing and blowing so hard that visibility was down to to feet.. I told Dick I thought I crossed a groomed trail. “We don’t need no stinking trails”… Happy trails to a guy that knew every area without a stinking map.. Thank you for the forever memories and a few pictures.. RIP

Dick and I were good friends as kids on Spencer Street. Many days playing “cars “on a burm on the street and in a “Bugs Bunny” hole in the vacant lot across the street from his house.
The best times were in the 4th. and 5th. grades when we moved cattle from Nelson above York across the old York bridge, across the Helena valley to “High Town” an old cow camp over the Divide, on Dog creek. It was a 4 day trip on horseback. The best part of that was getting out of school for 2 days. Neither of us were good students, in fact quite the opposite. I lost track of Dick in high school and only got together later years in some of the same watering holes. Dick was always well dressed and a self- proclaimed “Lady’s man”.
A man that I will miss from my childhood. So long old friend.
