Dear Bonnie and family,
My heart goes out to you right now, even as I myself am grieving. Richard was a tireless advocate for the veterans and for our team. He was one of those very special people who could truly say, “The buck stops here”. And it really did. He gave each one of us support and took on problems with his creative strategies that freed us up to take care of more veterans. I am really going to miss him and can’t imagine how difficult this is for you all.
All my best, peace, and love,
Mary Beth

Bonnie and family,
My heart breaks for you and your family. Richard was such a special person! He was always there to lend a hand and was someone you could rely on if you needed his help. He went above and beyond the call of duty. I still remember meeting him when I first came to the VA. He was all over on the floors, like a busy little bee! No moss grew under his feet! I still remember how happy you looked when you were first dating… precious memories! How blessed you were to have Richard for the time you did!
May God be with you now and give you peace in your heart, knowing he is in the most beautiful place we could ever imagine.

Dear Bonnie and family. I am so sorry for your loss…Richard was such a big part of our Hbpc team at work. There will be a huge hole without him. He loved his family so much and on more than one account we made fun of him and his lovey dovey comments on the phone with his lil bride. He was so excited when he met his Granddaughter too. Showing all of us his photos like a good grampa should. At work he was absolutely the best and we are all gonna miss him!
