Ricky Lynn Murray, age 64, passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena on August 25, 2017, after a fight with stage IV Colon Cancer. He was born on Friday, the 13th of March, 1953, to Guy and Shirley (George) Murray in Williston, ND.
Rick grew up in various places and ended up in the Helena, Clancy area where he made the most of his adult life. He became a water well driller and later opened his own business, Murray’s Well Service, which he drilled water wells for the majority of Mid to Eastern Montana.
On February 24, 1973, Rick Married Mary Lohrer, and together they brought Zabrina “Beannie” (1973) and Bobbi Jo (1977) into the world.
Rick was an avid hunter, fisher, and outdoorsman his entire life. If it was your time to hunt or fish, you were always welcome to go with him, didn’t matter how old you were. He enjoyed his family and friends and of course a good beer.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents. He leaves behind him his wife Mary, daughter Zabrina “Beannie” Golob and granddaughter Jozie Golob, daughter Bobbi Jo and husband Kevin Bridgewater, and granddaughter Kaylee Bridgewater, sister Pam and husband Jerry Henson, Sister Julie Murray, brother Guy Rob Murray, and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, and great friends.
We would also like to send a thank you to Ronny George for spending his time with his cousin.
A Celebration of His Life with pot luck will take place at 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 in the Social Hall of Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave.
Any donations would like to be sent to the Billings Clinic Oncology unit in Billings, or to Compassus (the hospice care he received) 1075 Rodney St, Helena. Please visit below to offer a condolence to the family or to share a memory of Rick.

I always remember Rick as a scrapper and a go-getter. Our group of kids rode bikes down the hill to
Alfred and Maggie’s place and played under the bridge. We also had a lot of fun in the basement of the
house out west. Riding the bus was always an experience, as well as all the events at Froid Public School.
My prayers go out to the family of Rick. Remember all your fondest times with Rick and know that
our Lord will be taking care of him now.
Sincerely, Family of Tom/Pat Reynen
