Robert “Bob” Norman Arnold, passed away July 4, 2019; from an extended illness.
Being born to Ralph and Ida Arnold on August 5, 1940, he was the 2nd oldest of 6 siblings.
Bob was raised in Manhattan Mt., and graduated from high school in 1959. He married his high school sweetheart Lavonne Nelson. From that union two boys were born Robert Scott and Alan Ray.
He moved his family to San Diego where he earned a degree in computer science from Coleman Community College and was employed by the US Navy. Upon his return to Montana, he worked for the Montana Department of Labor until he retired.
On November 7th 1994, Bob married his soul mate Mary Wildish. The couple shared a love for music and could be often seen singing at various social gatherings, Bob playing his guitar and Mary the tambourine.
They enjoyed a “snowbird” lifestyle for several years going back and forth between Arizona and Montana, eventually becoming residents of Porterville, CA.
Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, family, BBQing, music and a cold beer.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don, Jack Kenneth; sister, Louise Bates and son, Robert Scott.
He is survived by his wife Mary Arnold, Son Alan (Tina); step kids, Dusty (Kathy), Marianne (Elmer), Jimmy, Bonnie (Shrub). grand children, Brandon and Alyssa Arnold; great grandsons, Brayden and Ashton Lochmandy; brother, Gary (Dianne) Arnold.
A celebration of Bob’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 13th at 2 p.m. at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home with a pot-luck reception to follow in the social hall of the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date in Manhattan, MT.
